Obama calls off war

Obama calls off war due to lack of interest..

Was it because he was not willing to shoulder the blame himself for his actions.. or does he really care what the people think?

WASHINGTON -- President Obama said Saturday that he believes the United States “should take military action” in response to last week’s chemical attack in Syria, but he will seek congressional approval for ordering a strike.

In a brief statement delivered in the White House Rose Garden, Obama said the U.S. military was prepared to launch a strike against the Syrian government, but that readiness was "not time sensitive."

Obama said he believes he has the authority to act without congressional approval, but asked lawmakers to weigh in and shoulder the responsibility for the decision.

After initially calling on United Nations inspectors to investigate the attack, the Obama administration switched course and declared that the U.N. team would not learn more than what U.S. intelligence agencies had already uncovered.

Still, Obama had largely failed to win over key international partners and seemed prepared Friday to forge ahead without United Nations support or NATO allies.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the California Democrat who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, gave a lukewarm assessment of the U.S. evidence that Assad carried out the chemical weapons attacks, saying only that it "points to" the Syrian leader.

well it looks like Obama was unwilling to shoulder the blame alone,.. so instead he went golfing...

oh and his inaction is Bush's fault..

We better keep the "F" out of Syria.....not even a missile strike. If Hadjis want to kill other Hadjis.....let them. Fewer people to kill Israelis or Americans. Dear Leader has already refused to send the Syrian opposition requested gas masks for over ONE YEAR!

The Saudis are spending tens of millions of dollars to make sure that the US and Israel are dragged into this. "F" the Saudis, "F" a missile strike, and let's stay the "F" out of this mess. Enough brave Americans have died in Muslim lands!

with Sarin they are not all that is needed... you need a kit,.. usually a gas mask, plastic like impregnated cloth suit, and an antidote.
Sarin gas, the CDC notes, “can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, ingestion, skin contact, or eye contact,” meaning a gas mask provides only partial protection against the deadly agent.

And atropine alone provides limited treatment for nerve gas symptoms. The CDC recommends a Mark I nerve agent antidote kit containing both atropine sulfate and pralidoxime chloride, which together provide the necessary dosage to counteract sarin or VX’s deadly effects.

it seems the Israelis are being left out to die as well...
Until 2010, the gas mask kits distributed by the IDF contained a small auto-injecting syringe containing atropine sulfate, which the US Center for Disease Control recommends as one of the best ways to treat sarin gas toxicity.

In Israel, the drug is not being distributed to civilians.

The Home Front Command ceased distribution of atropine injectors in 2010. Its website provides no reason for the decision. A Home Front Command call center employee said the reason they ceased distributing the injectors was because “the medicine was not effective.”

When asked for comment, an IDF spokesman had the following to say: “In light of the recent occurrences in the region, the IDF is taking the necessary defensive measures to protect the State of Israel. These include active and passive mechanisms.”

Atropine Sulfate Injection
[30 August 2013]

Reason for the Shortage

American Regent had temporarily suspended manufacture of most drug products in April, 2011.

Hospira states the shortage is due to manufacturing delays.

ATROPINE SHORTAGE INDICATES POWERS THAT BE ARE STOCK PILING FOR CHEMICAL WEAPONS ATTACK . as you see there is a mysterious worldwide shortage of it. Of course we both know atropine is the primary treatment for various nerve agents that are in stock for wartime use.

This all points to a very bad conclusion. Something wicked this way comes and soon

The FDA page is "no longer found",. blank.. with an outline..

not sure what the actual shelf life is,.. but without it.. I would bet an actual large scale chemical attack would be a humanitarian disaster of a scale we have not seen in awhile..

after finding out there is a real and actual shortage of the sarin gas antidote.. I dug a bit deeper and found it on an FDA listing of critical shortages..

but I was relieved that Obama has already dealt with critical shortage last year..

President Obama, FDA employ new strategies against drug shortages
Jan 1, 2012

Bert Hughes, president and chief executive officer of Sparhawk says the shortage came after FDA notified the company it would now consider atropine sulfate a new animal drug. The new classification requires Sparhawk to obtain a medically necessary waiver to import the drug's active ingredient.

Atropine sulfate has just been added to the list of medically necessary veterinary drugs in short supply, reports the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The process to complete the waiver was lengthy, but Hughes says FDA helped the company through the process. He is now working with FDA on a new waiver for another importation of the drug's active ingredient so the company can manufacture additional supplies.

Drug shortages tripled in 2010, FDA says, with sterile injectables making up the bulk of those shortages (80 percent) in the human medical market.

In an executive order signed Oct. 31, Obama directs FDA to take more action in preventing and reducing drug shortages.

In addition to the executive order, the Obama administration also sent a letter to drug manufacturers reminding them of their responsibility to report discontinuations of certain drugs to FDA and encouraging them to voluntarily disclose shortages to FDA in cases where disclosure is not required by law. Obama also increased staffing resources for FDA's Drug Shortages Program.

well a year later we know we still have a shortage... so I guess you could put this down as another failure of leadership.

word of caution.. don't go near a chemical attack...
