Obama citizenship issue has merit, AOL poll says
World Net Daily ^ | 12/16/08 | Chelsea Schilling

America Online is conducting a new poll asking readers whether they believe there is any merit to the controversy surrounding Barack Obama's citizenship – and most respondents say "yes."

With nearly 77,000 national votes in the unscientific survery, some might say the poll chart looks somewhat similar to this year's electoral map, except in orange and yellow.

A full 48 percent of nationwide respondents believe people should be concerned about Obama's citizenship, 45 percent say the controversy has no merit and 7 percent of voters remain undecided.

In all, 32 states agree that there could be merit to the Obama citizenship controversy.

How about Kissinger? This is very silly. When someone is born in the U.S. with an American parent who is the parent they remain with and raised in the U.S. by midwestern grandparents and attends U.S. college and professional school, what else would he be? I hate to say it but it's a fallout of the smear campaign and polarization of the last many years. We have had many many influential politicians who were less obviously native born Americans than Obama and no one questioned them because they were white men.

Ohhhh...R2.....you just made SandHusker start itchin' all over with that post and Mike is reaching for his sheet and jigs for his gun!!!

I said about Obama and meant it that it's interesting that when I see him I see a white guy and when black people see him they see a black guy. He truly lives in both worlds and he didn't really know his black side until he had an identity crisis as a teenager. I understand this being the child of parents from very different religious backgrounds. I live in two worlds too. Most people can't see past Obama's skin color which is ironically light. His upbringing, education, and cultural background put him solidly in the white dominated upper middle class as opposed to say Mike Tyson who has money but not the upbringing or white grandparents who raised him

...and that is EXACTLY what scares the be-jeebers out of the red necks!!!

He's seen as being uppity!!

If this is so, what's the deal about Obama saying he was raised by a single mom and had to exist on food stamps?

Maybe you are talking about after he moved back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents? He was in high school by then, huh?

You don't know he was born in the US, and he REFUSES to prove that he was. An eye witness to his birth says he was born in Kenya. He's spending money to keep his cert. hidden instead of ponying up the $12 to get a copy. You don't see a huge red flag here?

I doubt Reader the Sec. is going to have an answer to this one as this is what WikiAnswers has to say.

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Did_Barack_Obama_grow_up_on_food_stamps

Did Barack Obama grow up on food stamps?

This question has not been answered yet.
I guess they are still looking into this Obama story.

1. born in the US

That question is yet to be answered as Obama refuses to allow anyone to see his long form Birth Cerificate. :???:

2. who is the parent they remain with

To bad the parent he stayed with didn't stay in the US but married another foreigner and moved out of the US. :???:

3. raised in the U.S.

What about the time his mother took him to a foreign country and his new step father enrolled him in a school system that only citizens can attend :???:

4. attended U.S. College and professional school

Gee my beautician's daughter attended college in Chicago does that make her an automatic US citizen? :???:

Reader answer this if he is a US citizen how did he visit a foreign country that had a ban on US citizens?

Now for your question what else would he be?
Kenyan maybe as his Grandma Obama and Kenyan siblings did said he was born in Kenya.
British maybe as his father at the time of his Kenyan birth was a subject of Britian
Indonesian maybe as he did have to be to attend school in Indonesia where he spent his early years. And would explain how he got into Pakistan when they had a ban on US citizens.
Take your pick Reader the sec. maybe even two as I heard once he had dual citizenship.

We have had many many influential politicians who were less obviously native born Americans than Obama and no one questioned them because they were white men.
would you care to name names of who they are and what government seat they ran for as if it wasn't President it doesn't matter they were not a nature born citizen?

What does it matter that Obama's mother was a U.S. citizen? He is not claiming citizenship because she was a citizen, he is claiming U.S. citizenship because he was supposedly born in the U.S.. Besides according to the stories she could not pass her citizenship rights on to her foreign born son as she was only 18 not 19 as required in her case.

And how many times does it have to be said McCain proved his citizenship qualifications by providing his long form birth certificate, unlike Obama, to the Senate that proved he was born in a U.S. military hospital while his father was serving in the US military in a US controled area. Give it up and tell Obama to give it up too.

Don't be like Oldtimer, just defend your statement. What does it matter that she was a citizen when he is claiming to have been born in the US himself?

Maybe somebody said this, I don't have the time to read everything, but the bigger issue is the constitution. If something is being done that is un-constitutional then we have a serious problem that needs to be dealt with immediately.
