Obama got asked about the NSA snooping today

The defenders of the NSA keep saying they have to collect every ones info so if there is a threat they can address it as fast as possible but why do they need to collect it when all they really need is ACCESS to the info which they have to have a warrant to access according to the Fourth Amendment anyway?

Facts are they had the info and tips from Russia about the Boston bombers and still never took it serious enough to deport the brothers and stop them from killing Americans. So what did all that collected info do to save Americans lives? Same with the Christmas day bomber that thanks to the other passengers on the plane never got to pull off his American killing trick, they had family warning about the kid but they never stop him from getting on a plane and flying into the US.

It has been proven they are not securing the info as Snowden was able to take a pile of the NSA info to RUSSIA, a country that loves rubbing crap in Obama's face, and brag to the World he had it. Which in turn put the fear of god into the Obama administration as they were lying they were not collecting the info. And just today the head of the NSA said they still fear what info Snowden has and who he gave it to. That is the friggin problem with having every ones info in ONE PLACE that thousands, that have been vetted by looking them in the eye and asking them if they promise not to screw the US government before they give them the keys and leave for an extended lunch hour, have access to it with a slip drive.

To me the NSA collecting everyone's data is like the Malayian government starting the search for their missing plane off the coast of California instead of where it supposedly when down which was off the coast of Australia. The NSA's data collection represents all seven oceans and the NSA is looking through an ocean of haystacks to find THEE HAYSTACK the needle is actually in. AND please if they are not reading foreign leaders info what are they collecting it for do they really think Cameron and Merkel are arranging an attack on the US?

I talk regularly with people overseas.. both on the internet, and phone..

I do not expect any privacy.. and would not be surprised if someone "from the government" knocked on my door one day..

I wouldn't be upset.. just disappointed.. because any time wasted on me could have been used to track down a real threat...

Just remember... the Fort Hood shooter and the Boston bombers were both ignored by federal authorities.. despite overwhelming "red flags"

BINGO how much more info did they need to figure out these guys were bad apples. This government was given tips from other countries and because they were Muslims, they saw it as PROFILING to investigate them, so they looked the other way until it is to d*mn late and Americans were killed. ALL the collecting of American Data did nothing to stop these guys but we are to believe if the government does not have their hands on all our data we are at great risk. We are at great risk due to their incompetence, PERIOD.

these two examples didn't "just flip out"

BOTH left a long paper trail behind showing they were planning and working towards their terrorist acts..

the Fort hood shooter was even in contact with known terrorist via e-mail.

We were warned about the Boston bombers , yet ignored all the red flags..

so much so now the dead Boston bomber is implicated in a triple homicide.

His attendance at the Falls Church mosque was in the same period as that of Nawaf al-Hazmi and Hani Hanjour, two of the hijackers in the September 11 attacks, who went there from April 2001 to later in the summer. A review of Hasan's computer and his e-mail accounts revealed he had visited a radical Islamist.

Hasan expressed admiration for the teachings of Anwar al-Awlaki, Awlaki had been the subject of several FBI investigations, and had helped hijackers al-Hazmi and Hanjour.

After Hasan wrote nearly 20 emails to him between December 2008 and June 2009, Hasan was investigated by the FBI. The fact that Hasan had "certain communications" with the subject of a Joint Terrorism Task Force investigation was revealed in an FBI press release made on November 9, 2009,[123] and reporting by the media immediately revealed that the subject was Awlaki and the communications were emails.[124] In one, Hasan wrote: "I can't wait to join you" in the afterlife.

A DC-based joint terrorism task force operating under the FBI was notified, and the information reviewed by one of its Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) employees, who concluded there was not sufficient information for a larger investigation.

Welner, who believed Hasan wanted to create a "spectacle", said that a trauma care worker, even under mental distress, would not normally be expected to be homicidal toward his patients unless his ideology trumped his Hippocratic oath–Welner thought Hasan expressed this in shouting, "Allahu Akhbar," as he shot unarmed men.

that isn't flipping out.. it is cold blooded murder.. to promote terror.

WELL if you listen to Janet Air Head Napolitano these guys were lone wolves that had no contacts to terrorists groups.

Did you hear today that a report was released that says Homeland Security was warned by Russia about the one Boston bomber brother being radicalized by going through terrorist training in a Terrorist camp in Russia but because someone miss-spelled his name Homeland Security did not catch on until after he bombed Boston. So much for the Napolitano story about him being a lone wolf with no contacts and that the FBI investigated him after the Russian warning but nothing was found wrong in the guy's immigration papers.
