Obama Has No Intention of Taxing the Rich

In 2003 the Kerry's made $5,072,000. According to their own tax return they had an effective total income tax rate of 12.34%. Where as multi-millionaire John (two Americas) Edwards set up a corporation on paper to operate at a loss to avoid paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in social security and medicare taxes.

You see Democrats love to tax the producers, small businesses and high wage earners, but they never move to tax the wealthy, who make their money off "non-earned income"

The Steve Forbes Flat Tax Plan that Kerry and the Democrats said was a tax giveaway to the "rich" was a 17.5% flat tax. Kerry and others like them would pay MORE taxes under such a plan and the lower classes would pay less. How is that for "progressive"?

Who will Obama Tax?

Sub chapter S corporations like many small pizzaria's and such and other small businesses. While on paper they make mote than 250K much of that goes back into the business.

You ever wonder why the huge corporations make people like Obama their number one contributor? because they get all sorts of goodies put in the tax code for them like Nancy Pelosi did with the tuna company in her district that was tagged onto the bailout bill. Big buisiness loves the Democrats because they tax and regulate the small to medium sized business out of serious competition with the big boys.

Obama says that John McCain wants to lower tax rates for corporations - OF COURSE HE DOES - but does Obama ever tell you why??

We have the seond highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world. The big international companies can move their plants to Mexico, Peurto Rico, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Malaysia etc... but small to medium sized business stuck here in America cant afford to move, so they are here paying this huge corporate tax rate while the internationals arent paying jack.

On top of that those domestic businesses have to recover those costs so they are forced to raise their prices. So who pays corporate income taxes... YOU DO.

Big business loves big government for that reason and people who get caught up in the class warfare nonsense like you have OT, are the biggest tools for the worst abusers of the system.

Even Halliburton picked up and left the country because they got sick of the taxes and the Democrats crap.... many thousands of American jobs lost.

Welcome to reality.

Welcome to reality.

Those of us still working have to talk to Poland if we write a requisition to buy something because so many vendors now use overseas paper clearing houses. If there are computer issues with the main frame etc, we have to talk to India. Germany for generation issues. The list goes on and on. Overtaxing is going to expand that list as other domestic companies have to compete.

Folks this is not ranting. This is just stating the facts. March right on off of that cliff if you so choose.

Companies go overseas for one reason - it's cheaper. When corporate taxes are nearly 40%, it's not hard (unless you're a liberal) to see why it's cheaper overseas. McCain can see the obvious and wants to lower those taxes to reduce the incentive to take our jobs overseas, but the llama bleats and bleats and twists the message to make it sound that McCain is just lowering taxes for big oil.

Once again, Obama can't tell a straight story and in the process of his habitual snowjob, shows his ignorance of tax policy.

Change..... change...... change....

There are only two sides to the tax issue...tax collector and tax payer.
The tax collector is the government.
The tax payer is everyone else.
Where taxes are extracted is irrelevant...business or personal income...the everyday Joe pays the majority. The businesses pass in on...the rich hire lawyers to avoid them!!!

The only tax cut the American people get is in the form of less government spending...an unknown occurrence for Democrats.

Taxes are only part of the problem...labor cost, OSHA, EPA, retirement plans, health insurance...large corporations have the luxury of going overseas...small businesses will just go broke!!!!

Both parties spend too much and Congress is a cess pool of corruption. On this we agree, so why has Obama not addressed the corruption issue.

And lets stay on topic, Obama's tax plan does not tax the wealthy, it just doesnt, it taxes the producer class. It is more of the same. The tax code is used for corruption and rewarding contributors like with Nancy Pelosi got that break for a company in her district that was tagged onto the bailout bill.

This must end!

Question 2 - many small and medium sized businesses will be taxed at over 62% total tax burden with Obama's plan.

If you try to get a loan to expand your business, how likely is the bank going to approve your busines sloan with the government letting you keep 38 cents on the dollar?

It is not worth the effort. Small busineses will lay people off and produce less to stay under that $250k threashhold if they can.

Another huge McCain/Palin/Vision falsehood/LIE......

The following statement was made by Sarah Palin on October 2, 2008 during the vice presidential debate. It is a statement that has been repeatedly made in McCain ads and by McCain himself (McCain gave the actual number as "23 million small businesses" that would be hurt):
"But when you talk about Barack's plan to tax increase affecting only those making $250,000 a year or more, you're forgetting millions of small businesses that are going to fit into that category. So they're going to be the ones paying higher taxes thus resulting in fewer jobs being created and less productivity."

----------------------------------------------------------
The Truth About Obama's Small Business Tax Plan

The overwhelming majority of small-business owners would see no increase, and in fact, sole proprietors filing on personal tax returns might even seen a decrease in taxes; and
Obama's tax plan proposes to raise rates on couples making more than $250,000 or singles earning more than $200,000 per year. Most small business owners do not earn enough to be affected by any tax increases.
According to the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, "several hundred thousand small business owners, at most, would have incomes high enough to be affected by the higher rates on income, capital gains and dividends that Obama proposes." That is a far cry from 23 million small business owners.

Urban-Brookings is a partisan Democrat think tank.

Come on OT - if you are going to give us biased BS tell us it is biased BS.

It also depends on how they define "earned" in a new tax bill that comes along.

How many small business make $250,000 a year????
This was the amount Obama gave for small business as well.
I know one small business who makes $250,000 a year He is NOT rich if he has any more taxes he will slow down, turn his truck in and get a company truck. $200,000 will not be going back into the economy.
So much for redistrubuting wealth from the bottom up.

You do know that there is a difference between NET income and GROSS income. If he is netting 250,000 a year driving truck he must be smuggling some pretty good stuff in from Mexico.

The $250,000.00 number is irrelevant...to pay for his middle class tax cut, Obama is going to tax the rich and businesses.

The rich will hold on to their money/investments...revenue from capital gains will go down. They can hire lawyers to protect their money.

Businesses will pass their increased taxes on to consumers, when they can. When they can't or that isn't enough, they close their doors and increase unemployment.

The economy will still be in a fragile state if Obama is elected...his stated policies will send it into a downward spiral and we will look back on today as being the 'good ole days'.

Did I mention that when Obama lets the Bush tax cuts expire, it will negate his middle class tax cut anyway? And do any of you remember the last Democrat President that promised us a middle class tax cut? Did Clinton follow through with it???? What makes you think Obama will?????
