Obama Lied About Syria Too!

He almost lied his way into a war with Assad.
Seymour Hersh, the legendary investigative journalist who broke the My Lai massacre and the abuses at Abu Ghraib, says in a new report for the London Review of Books (the New Yorker and the Washington Post both reportedly passed) that the Obama administration did not tell the whole truth while arguing for a military strike against Syria’s Bashar al-Assad for using chemical weapons.

Hersh accuses the Obama administration of cherry-picking its evidence and omitting key, contradictory facts. But the administration’s greatest sin, according to Hersh, was its failure to reveal its knowledge that an al Qaida-aligned group of Syrian rebels — the al-Nusra Front — had mastered the creation of sarin gas, the substance used in the chemical attack the administration cited as a cause for war. “When the attack occurred al-Nusra should have been a suspect,” Hersh writes, “but the administration cherry-picked intelligence to justify a strike against Assad.”

I always questioned that, but Obama heard what he wanted to hear.

Like someone we know here, every time they open their mouth a lie comes out.

Buckwheat ain't happy until he's screwing up a country. Egypt, Libya, and now Syria................

Seems I was very accurate on this one as well - but then again who wants to believe a fat, dumb, grey haired guy like me

One other thing - Assad may have been a hard handed guy - but I saw a lot of well fed, well doctored and well educated people when I was living in Syria - but that does not make good press - does it? All the kids went to school - nice blue school uniforms for all kids - girls included - try that with the Taliban or Al Qida.

His replacements will be far worse - of that you can be sure

Biden wanted a war - and so did McCain.

Biden because he is mentally unstable and has been for some time in my mind - and McCain simply because he wants to kill something - neither should be in power as they are both dangerous to your country.

By the way - might be too early to mention - but it seems I might be leaving for A'stan in about 45 days - will let you all know if it happens. One last kick at the cat - probably only until Christmas - or whenever you guys pull out - whichever comes first

Christians were treated well in Syria too, and Obama has a war on Christians.

I would say "reasonably well" - as long as they remembered their place in life and kept a low profile. Certainly better than some of the African countries

Libya had the highest standard of living, in Africa, before obama did a bit of community organizing...

...as I have said before, obama thinks those middle eastern/eastern European countries can be "broke down" and then he can step in as the hero, with his community organizing.

Oh well, another 3 years and he will be at the UN, so he can make the World a better place to live then...

Keep your head down if you have to go as these last months are going to be very scary as Dempsey is even saying if there is no agreement signed the Afghan soldier are going to start hedging their bets to protect themselves against the Taliban that will like move back in like they have in Iraq. We will be praying for your safety.

Excellent post, Tam. One thing, I want to thank BC again for his service.
He's done way more than his share and I hate to think of him heading back into harm's way. When he posts here, I listen closely.........he's been there, done that and is very credible. When one lives it as he has, you can't refute what he says~IMO. In my mind, he's a hero.
