Maybe he was just fatigued from his trip. Or maybe he thought that since he was out of the country, nobody would know the difference. Or maybe he just hasn't been to enough committee meetings to know which committees he serves on. Or maybe...

...maybe it just doesn't take much to impress you libs.

=========================================

(CNN) – Responding to an Israeli reporter’s question Wednesday on his commitment to protect the Jewish state, Barack Obama pointed to a bill “we passed” in the U.S. Senate Banking Committee that tightens sanctions and authorizes divestment from Iran. “My committee,” he called it.

Except that he isn’t a member of the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs...

Not much of a gaffe- as it is part of his countries (US) Senate that passed the bill-- I could see him or any Senator responding to something that came out of the Senate as "my"...

Too bad his tongue slipped tho as it could have been much more impressive saying "my bill".....

An Obama spokesman tells CNN “it was his bill, not his committee,” referring to the Iran Sanctions Enabling Act that the Illinois senator sponsored and introduced in May 2007. The measure was then referred to the Banking Committee, and passed a vote of 19-2 on July 17.

What about the "57 states"??

Pretty pathetic when ANYONE, lib or otherwise, doesn't even know how many states there are in the country he wants to be President of.....   Hussein better light up another KOOL and think about it.......

I wonder just how long it will take Jesse, Al, Louis, and Jeremiah to throw Bama under da bus.......I truly believe they want him to fail.

He's a threat to their leadership status. Credible in comparison too.

Did you even read the link? Other than to try to find your messiah's excuse? It was much worse than a "gaffe."

"Just this past week, we passed out of the out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee - which is my committee - a bill to call for divestment from Iran as way of ratcheting up the pressure to ensure that they don’t obtain a nuclear weapon,” Obama said at a press conference in Sderot, Israel.

He specifically stated that the Banking Committee is his committee. Since it's really not plausible that someone would make a mistake like that, there are really only two possible explanations for it. Either he was lying, or else he doesn't know his committee assignments. He's either dishonest or stupid - if not both.

Personally, I would give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he probably wasn't lying - he just doesn't know which committees he's on because he hasn't been there long enough. But I'm not surprised that you would look for any excuse to take up for your new cultist leader.

this might be the best time to lose a presidential election. given what's coming at most of the world economically it won't be a good time to be in power. if obama wins he might do to the dems what the dems are hoping bush did to the repubs.

I think there's a lot of truth in that, Don. I've heard that some of the Libertarians are really hopeful that an Obama win will make good things happen for them in the 2012 elections.

And with an Obama win, things could easily turn around in the 2010 Congressional elections. That's assuming that 'conservatives' can get their sht together and remember why we elect them.

If it was not for the fact that Obama is just way to liberal, I would consider voting Democratic to send a message to Conservatives that they better get their act together.

But the Democrats can not give us a moderate to chose from it has to be a far left loon like Kerry or Obama.
