Does PBO think we don’t read? Does he really expect to pull the windy wool over our eyes? Can he really expect the facts about the failure of the Danish wind power experiment not to be cited in reaction to his airy talk?

From “Wind Power Is A Complete Disaster”

* Denmark, the world’s most wind-intensive nation, with more than 6,000 turbines generating 19% of its electricity, has yet to close a single fossil-fuel plant. It requires 50% more coal-generated electricity to cover wind power’s unpredictability, and pollution and carbon dioxide emissions have risen (by 36% in 2006 alone).

* Flemming Nissen, the head of development at West Danish generating company ELSAM tells us that “wind turbines do not reduce carbon dioxide emissions.”

* Recent academic research shows that wind power may actually increase greenhouse gas emissions in some cases, depending on the carbon-intensity of back-up generation required because of its intermittent character.

* [Denmark's] electricity generation costs are the highest in Europe (15¢/kwh compared to Ontario’s current rate of about 6¢). Niels Gram of the Danish Federation of Industries says, “windmills are a mistake and economically make no sense.” Aase Madsen, the Chair of Energy Policy in the Danish Parliament, calls it “a terribly expensive disaster.”

* A recent detailed analysis (focusing mainly on Spain) finds that for every job created by state-funded support of renewables, particularly wind energy, 2.2 jobs are lost. Each wind industry job created cost almost $2-million in subsidies.

You can't control VARS with wind generation. There has to be some sort of conventional power for that purpose if you have wind generation. Nukes or coal or gas etc. That is not mentioned.

Biden blew this one all to pieces during the elections and no one called him on it. The media drank the drink in total ignorance.

Obama has not set the record straight so he likely will never go back and state they were wrong. He chooses to keep wearing the emporer's clothes playing us all as blind fools.

They had a call in show on the radio here is Sask a few weeks ago and the main discussion was on Nuc. Power. The main reason for the discussion was because our provincial government is projecting huge increases in power bills due to the fact we are going to have to pay to rebuild our energy sources here in Sask. to live up to Obama's crap and trade policies. As most of our power comes from Coal powered plants.

Some of the callers were requesting the Province go green and move to Wind and Solar. They were told the studies done by the government said that you can not depend on solar or wind as a reliable source. They are only good for suppliment power.(IE you need a main power source).

So if you are going to invest money into something wouldn't it be smart to invest in something that is RELIABLE and will provide you with what you need. Not something that is only good as a suppliment. :?

A liberal democrat called me on the phone tonight all bent out of shape about Obama's wind issues. He had a laundry list, in addition to the VARS issue (he knows about VARS). He claims everything is made overseas used in the wind generators - all the way down to the bolts. He was expressing disgust for Obama for over 30 minutes. I just smiled and listened.

Just a few weeks back he was an Obama fan.

Give Obama more rope. The chickens are finally coming home to roost for some folks.
