Obama to Kill Jobs Council

I guess they didn't tell him what he wanted to hear...

"Lower regulations and taxes"

or could it be because that's the time period it was set up to exist for :???:

But doubt now hangs over the question of whether the council’s original charter will be extended beyond its two-year term, with a White House aide telling The Hill that it “was only intended” to last that long.

The executive order that created the council states, “The [jobs council] shall meet regularly” and it “shall terminate 2 years after the date of this order unless extended by the president.”

Didn't the same King issue an executive order closing Gitmo by Jan of 2010?

So by Liberal standards, "he quit", and doesn't care about jobs anymore...

This former green-jobs Czar and fellow communist is beginning to believe that the King doesn't like any jobs, regardless of the color.

Obama could have extended it but he didn't Oldtimer WHY? Did he figure he had created enough jobs and didn't want to risk getting any more people an actual job and off the government welfare rolls/Democrat voters list? Like I have said before the more people on the GOVERNMENT TIT the longer the Dems keep control of the purse strings. Those living on Government handouts are not going to chance voting Republican and having them cut into their gravy train while attempting to bring the US back to fiscal sanity.
I'm guessing with No Jobs Counsel, Obama doesn't have to take the hit for their lack of job creation or take the hit for his jobs counsel chairmen Jeffery Imelt sending more GE jobs to China.

This is comical... Usually conservatives are against more committees, commissions, bureaucrats, and more big government spending on study groups- BUT
since this is something Obama is choosing not to continue- they are all for it...  :p

Since when did anyone not trying to make a point keep OT from arguing it?

He wins every time. He's a legend.

Mind showing us where I said I agreed with the Jobs counsel that was headed up by the biggest offshore employer in the US? :?

Good jobs are not created BY THE GOVERNMENT via a Jobs Counsel, they are created when the government gets the hell out of private Business's way and allow them to do their jobs. Any job created by the government is paid for by tax payer money collect off the back of those with a job in the private sector.

Nowhere did Tam say she was "for" the Jobs Council.

Just becasue she criticizes the reasons for obama quitting, when it comes to the Jobs Council, it does not mean she was ever for it.

Like most of us, she probably knew it was a waste of time and money when obama signed the executive order.

Maybe you need to go back and read it again. As I did not say I felt the job counsel was needed. Oldtimer said it ended because the program ended as agreed. I pointed out Obama had the option of keeping it going but didn't So WHY? Was a jobs counsel needed in the first place or was it purely Obama's way of repaying a few election supporters with a high profile position? :? If he can close up shop when there are millions still without jobs I'm guess it was never about creating jobs and it was a waste of money in the first place.

. Personally I think it being headed up by Jeffery Imelt after he shipped thousands of US jobs to China made the whole friggin counsel one big payback for yet another Obama supporter in his bid for the presidency. Jeffery Imelt gets a high profile chairmanship and the head of Solyndra got a couple hundred million to pocket before his company filed for bankruptcy and the Tax payers got screwed. :x

Might as well be closed. Was all about showmanship and never did anything anyway.

Community Organizers only care about Gub-Mint jobs.

Oldtimer I was pointing out Obama had an OPTION something that you seem to have missed in your rant. Ask yourself If he truly believe the Counsel was needed in the first place why close up with millions still UNEMPLOYED? :?
