A little more hypocrisy for Obama, he would not even pass his own vetting process. You liberals blow my mind in how tolerant you are to Hypocrisy from this man you elected!

We can not ask him about Ayers, Wright or others but he has the right to ask his employees about such questionable associations?

OMG! You Libs truly have a mental disorder!

Ps. Article does not mention but they have to provide any association they may have had with questionable people! Can you spell Ayers?

Barack Obama staff to have email and Facebook vetted

Staff in the Barack Obama administration will have to reveal whether they have ever sent an embarrassing email and provide a link to their Facebook site.

A seven-page application form is being sent to anyone being considered for a cabinet or other high-ranking position.

The form includes 63 requests for personal and professional records, some covering spouses and grown-up children.

Applicants are asked whether they own a gun or have sent emails that might embarrass Mr Obama.

They are also required to provide links to any blog posts and a link to their Facebook profile.

The application form, much more invasive than those used by previous administrations, also asks applicants if they have every kept a diary and to "please list all aliases or 'handles' you have used to communicate on the internet."

Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Centre for Politics, said: "Every four years for as long as I can remember, at least one or two of the cabinet or other high officials chosen by each president has had a big problem that was undiscovered in the vetting process.

"It ends up consuming capital for a new president unnecessarily at a critical moment in his term."

Apart from the need to avoid scandal, the exhaustive questionnaire is an attempt to make good on campaign promises to reduce the influence of lobbyists in Washington.

The questions delve deeply into any past work for lobbying firms and also into any links with financial institutions receiving money from the recent government rescue package.

The questionnaire specifically asks about the terms of any mortgages that would appear on financial disclosure forms for the candidate or their spouse from the last ten years.

Stephanie Cutter, spokesman for the Obama transition team, told the New York Times: "President-elect Obama made a commitment to change the way Washington does business, and the vetting process exemplifies that."

Why would somebody who supports the Second Amendment ask this?

Maybe he thinks one of them might be as poor of a shot as Cheney.

I can not think of one logical reason why rather you own a gun would ever be on a vetting list?? :?

Seems that would be like asking have you ever exercised the freedom of speech?

Seems there is a hidden message in that question especially if you look at his past views on gun ownership!

It's obvious what the deal is. Obama is a radical anti-gun nut and he was lying AGAIN when he said he supported the Second Amendment - and these liberals who claimed, and continue to claim, that he does support gun rights are flippin idiots. Obama is a compulsive liar and said anything to get elected. You don't listen to what he says, you look at what he does, and his voting record on guns made it a sure bet that he would pull a whacko mega-liberal anti-gun stunt like he is. Don't think this is the last of it, either - he's just getting started.

guys this may be his way of arming the civilian army he has plans to mobilize. What better way than to draft youth that already own a gun? No tax payers money will be used and they will all come with experience. Besides when he bans the sale of ammo you might as well give your guns to him too so he doesn't have to arm those that don't have their own with your tax dollars

It totally amazes me that a man with your history in US law is so blind to the fact that the great Obama has yet to provide proof of his citizenship. What is so great about him that you are willing to look the other way when it comes to the US Constitution.

Since the US has no National official clerk and recorder- or Secretary of State with the duty (like the states) to check those things out and make a decision on it-- Who is supposed to make the decision :???:

The question of the validity of both candidates birth has been swirling since the campaign first started--It appears to me that the issue was fully vetted for over a year-and the decision on the validity of his birth- and his ability to serve was made on Nov. 4th when a majority of voters of the nation made the decision....The most basic form of decision you can get...

So if the speed limit is 60, and the majority of drivers drive 85, that makes it OK and legal?

A simple vote of the people cannot overturn Constitutional rule of law.

Their shouldn't be need for anyone to check a candidates Presidential qualifications .........they should all be held to the high standard of openess and honesty.

Something you know very little about.

WHO is to make the decision  Somebody anybody, I don't care. What you and rest of the world should care about is why hasn't Obama the great showed his long form birth certificate to the courts when even one let alone several lawsuits asking for it appeared on their docket. If we can't trust the US courts to get to the bottom of this and make the right determination than can we trust them to decide who goes to jail and who walks free.

And when the validity of both candidates was swirling why didn't Obama hand over his true birth certificate to the Senate like McCain reportedly had to and did? :???:

And when did a vote on someones abilities have anything to do with his right to even be running ? I bet you If Arnold S, that successfully ran for governor of Calif, ran for President you would be the first in line to tell the Republicans he is not a natural Born Citizen. But you don't even seem to care that there is some pretty damning evidence to the creditibity of Obama birth right.

Do any of you think that Obama ,or anyone for that fact, would have gone thru all the primaries and then thru the election and NOT be full verified as a citizen with all the necessary paperwork???

I'd say as bad as this man was hounded for the last 20+ months....someone, esp a Rep., if there was ANYTHING it would have been found.

And for what it's worth...I think Arnold would make a GREAT Pres and should be allowed to run if he'd like.

Haven't you been very vocal on Bush stomping on the Constitution? I don't understand why you hang Bush on it but let Obama slide.
