Obamacare: A deliberate scam

Obamacare, a deliberate scam to introduce single payer

Obamacare may have crashed sooner than the White House wanted, but it was always intended to end in failure. The Affordable Care Act could not simply provide coverage for the uninsured while letting the rest of Americans keep their own health care at the same price. President Obama made a lot of promises to get the law passed and enacted in order to push toward his ultimate goal: the whole country on a single-payer, government-run health care system.

On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius attempted to persuade Congress that the colossal failure of the healthcare.gov website was evidence that "millions of Americans are clearly eager to learn about their options and to finally achieve health security." At the end of the lengthy hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers pointed to a video screen and showed Mrs. Sebelius that the Obamacare website had been down for the entire hearing. "This is more than a broken website. This is a broken law," said the Washington Republican. "Millions of Americans are getting notices their plans are being canceled."

Asked about the NBC report that up to 80 percent of the 14 million Americans with individual policies will be canceled, the secretary countered, "They can get health insurance. They must be offered new plans, new options, either inside the marketplace, or if they don't qualify for a financial subsidy, they can shop inside or outside of the marketplace."

In other words, Obamacare's mandated standards - like maternity care, mental health coverage, mammograms and prescriptions - means Americans are forced into either spending up to double their previous premiums or going through the government. That has been borne out by thousands of American families who wanted to keep their health plans but have received letters from their insurers saying they could not.

The Obama administration has known since at least July 2010 that individual markets would see this drastic turnover, according to the NBC report, yet the president continued to say that Americans could keep their insurance plans. It was a deliberate scam. Sen. Michael B. Enzi told me Wednesday, "Obamacare, both by design and by effect, undermines the private insurance market through new taxes, mandates, red tape and regulation." The Wyoming Republican added that the higher costs would force people "out of the free market and into the federal and state health insurance exchanges."

The other way that the health care law is designed to force people into government programs is by expanding the Medicaid system, which is a budget-buster and a risk for worse health care. Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, said on Fox News on Tuesday, "The design was to push a growing number of people onto Medicaid programs across the country, moving more and more people into like a single- payer-type environment."

Obamacare proponents secretly wanted a system of universal health care. The rollout of the law was carefully orchestrated so that the voters got goodies like coverage for pre-existing conditions before Mr. Obama's re-election in 2012, but only found out afterward that they can't keep their insurance and that prices would increase.

Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, said on Aug. 9 that Obamacare is just the first step to "work our way past" employer- provided health insurance to a government-run health care system. "What we've done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we're far from having something that's going to work forever," the Nevada Democrat said on Vegas PBS. When Mr. Reid was asked whether the country would eventually move beyond the private company insurance delivery for health care, he replied, "Yes, absolutely."

Ten years ago, Mr. Obama openly called himself a "proponent of a single-payer, universal health care program." He moderated his stance when running for national office, but only owing to the logistical difficulty in moving everyone away from private coverage to government insurance plans. This reveals that he doesn't put his faith in the private sector, market economics or individual choice.

Mr. Obama's worldview is one in which the government knows better than we do what we need. American is a nation based on individualism, self-reliance and free enterprise, and should never have a government-run health care system.

It is going to be truly interesting to see how their plan is going to work out for them when Hospitals and Doctors opt off of caring for Medicaid patients due to the FACT they will go BANKRUPT if they except a payment for service the covers a FRACTION of the true cost of the service.

Again access to Healthcare INSURANCE does not insure access to CARE.

Obamacare’s Marriage Penalty and Divorce Incentive

President Obama’s reelection campaign raised the hackles of conservatives last year when it released an interactive web graphic called the Life of Julia. The graphic depicted “Julia’s” cradle-to-grave reliance on government, and many viewers felt it offered a disturbing glimpse of the President’s ideology.

It was particularly striking that Julia seemed to lack any family or friends. At one point she “decides” to have a baby, but she never marries. And now perhaps we know why: under Obamacare, being married would likely have cost Julia thousands of dollars a year.

Many couples buying insurance through the Obamacare exchanges will face huge premium increases if they choose to get married, according to a tool created by the Kaiser Family Foundation. That’s because jointly they’ll lose substantial tax credits or subsidies they were eligible for individually.

The Kaiser calculator reveals that a married couple of 64-year-olds earning a combined $62,081 a year (each earning the same salary) would pay a premium of $15,211 for a “silver” plan under Obamacare. That amounts to more than a quarter of their income (and an even larger portion after taxes). If they chose not to marry (or to get divorced if they were already married), however, they’d pay only $5,360 combined for the same coverage. That’s a marriage penalty (or divorce incentive) of nearly $10,000 a year.

The story isn’t much better for a couple of 40-year-olds, one earning $70,000 a year and the other earning $23,000 a year. If married with two children, they would pay a premium of $9,700. If they chose not to marry (or to get divorced), however, they’d pay only $3,700 combined for the same coverage. That’s a marriage penalty (or divorce incentive) of $6,000 a year. By the time their children were 18, that would add up to well over $100,000 they could have saved to send them to college. (Tom Blumer at PJ Media highlighted similarly troubling scenarios before Kaiser adjusted its calculator.)

It was Robert Rector at the Heritage Foundation who first pointed out the “wedding tax” in Obamacare. That was back in January 2010 before the bill became law. Rector warned that “the bill’s anti-marriage penalties occur because of the income counting and benefit structure rules of the bill. If a two-earner couple is married, the bill counts their income jointly; since the joint income will be higher, a married couple’s health care subsidies would be lower.”

Nearly four years later as Americans log on to the exchange websites to sign up for Obamacare, many couples are discovering this unpleasant consequence for the first time. This week Al Jazeera talked to an Obamacare “navigator” in Colorado who said so far “no one” she’d talked to had signed up for coverage. “Thus far everybody has taken a look at the rates and they've walked out the door,” she said. “There's sticker shock. They just can't afford it.”

being married would likely have cost Julia thousands of dollars a year.

when you add in the other marriage penalties.. you may see a change in societies behaviors.. some minorities have already adapted to the government ways .. and now do not have husbands,,, but just baby daddies ..

but that will not work for all folk...

some older folk realized the only way to get around the US laws in the past was to quietly get divorced yet still live as man and wife..

we may see a increase of what a friend calls a "Mormon wedding",..

when I questioned what is a Mormon wedding.. he explained it is a wedding that fundamental Mormons use to get around the US laws..

they have a religious ceremony but no legal license or ramifications..

by law they are not married.. but by GOD they are..

so yes soon you may be able to have your wedding cake and tax breaks as well...

Now, I wonder, knowing how Obummer and the Devilcrats are trying to destroy our society, will they give an exemption to queer marriages?
