Obama's Legacy Obama Care

Got our new social security letter today.

For the two of us, the amount withheld from our social security is $604.20 per month or $7,250.40 annually.

In 2008, the year Obama took office, the same figures were $244.40 per month or 2932.80.

That is an increase of 147%.

Not very comforting!!.

 Why is that much withheld? What is it for, if I may ask?

Our withheld is Medicare which is $104 (approximate) for each of us and the Rx part of our Medicare which is $18.40 for each of us. What am I missing?

You are a nice guy......I'd call that highway robbery.

For some I would think a private plan would be better, you still have deductibles and co-pay on top of the increased costs.

2017

The standard Part B premium amount in 2017 will be $134 (or higher depending on your income). However, most people who get Social Security benefits will pay less than this amount. This is because the Part B premium increased more than the cost-of-living increase for 2017

NOTICE the deceptive wording?

the cost IS going UP but according to medicare, you get a slight small increase in benefit doe to cost of living increases (cola) so the cost increase is revenue neutral..

In other words you get screwed out of a needed inflation adjustment again..

We should not treat our seniors like they are dupes. this is very misleading and why many folk are upset with DC politics.

I just got ours. Our deductions went WAY up too. It is comforting to know that we are making life easier for illegal aliens. Thanks Obama.

Mr. FH SS check is now a whopping $135.85.

Sorry to rub salt in a wound, but I have received updated information from the SSA.

I had stated that our medicare deduction was $7,250.40 for 2017. SSA now says this is actually
$7,850.40.

We must be making a lot of money.

If you need to get your blood pressure up, just call the SSA - it is an experience!!

Or go to one of their offices. Guess what? You have to have a photo ID before they will even talk to you; or to us. Maybe
we needed a rag on our heads.
