I think that we get caught up in a mind set. The ranching industry is a tough one, with a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears. Pride is a terrible thing and if you like change you are not human. It isn't easy to open your mind and think outside the norm. In the end, forgive my bluntness, money talks and bullshit walks. I am sure when big Swede switched is calving date, speculation may have been that he didn't have what it takes anymore and he was looking for an easy way to ranch. I say he has found a way to work smarter not harder. The fun part of it is that he is open with his experience and isn't afraid to tell you how it has affected his bottom line. WP you and I have had many discussion and agreed to disagree as much as we have agreed. Hell I've even pissed you off a couple of times I am sure. In the end we both walked away thinking about something in a different light even thought we may not have agreed with the original thought. We can walk away with a hand shake and still have a civil conversation the next day. I think open mindedness has to come with the ability not to judge someone, you can learn from unsuccesful people just as easily as you can succesful people, you just have to be intelligent enought to sort through it all. In the end what truly matters is that you can make and honest living and have a clear God fearing conscience when you go to bed at night. I sleep well nowing that those who don't will answer for it sooner or later and that I do my very best.
Happy New Year Everyone.
