A "palindrome" is a word or phrase that is spelled the same forwards or backwards. The supposedly longest palindrome is "a man, a plan, a canal--Panama". This picture is of my pal covering his dome. :)

The title for this picture could be "The Tortoise and the Mare", except he's a gelding. :? :???:

We have em here, they get huge, Loggerhead Turtles is what they are called here, but I don't think that's their real name. (Loggerheads when you look it up, are sea turtles) They'll get in your tanks and eat all the fish. Some turtles weighin 100 lbs or more. And they are nasty lookin.....

I just called it a "mud" turtle, so it wouldn't be confused with a sand turtle or a sea turtle. Kinda like differentiating a "beef" cow so it wouldn't be confused with a dairy cow, a draft cow, or a miniature cow. How's that for fast thinking to justify the error of my ways? :???: :? :)

Good eye Jinglebob.
Your lucky you didnt get "sprayed" ...they have a NASTY smell. They are mean as all get out on land, suprised it didnt try and snap at your horse.

Too bad whoever said loggerheads were ugly have never seen them just hatched and crawl to the ocean. Beautiful animals..look like they are flying in the water.

In the South Alligator snapping turtles are the same as ' mud' turtles.....and they are butt ugly!

They will also take off a finger if you're too curious about them. My Grandfather used to kill them and clean them to eat. I've seen a head of one of them...already chopped off....bite and snap a broomstick into 2 pieces. This was Poppas way of showing us to stay away from it!!!
