Oil shutdown

We've got 140,000 or so well trained, well equiped soldiers in Iraq and we can't keep this from happening. How does anyone think the Iraqi Army and police, infiltrated with insurgents, can keep the peace?

but I see the problem in the second line the word "we" since when were you over there, or even over here doing any thing to "help" the troops do thier job....other then finding fault in everything they do?


BTW, I thought you said the troops were poorly trained and not given the proper equipment in the last troop bashing post? which is it well trained, and well equiped or poorly trained and poorly equiped?

I'm not finding fault with anything legal that our troops do. I'm finding plenty of fault with the leadership or our troops, namely the Bush Bunch. If you truly had their interests at heart, you'd also demand some accounting for the mess Rumsfeld and Bush have gotten them into.

I never said they were "poorly" trained. I said the NG soldiers put into the prisons weren't properly trained. I said they weren't provided with the proper equipment for this mission. That's why hundreds died, because we sent them in with HumVs where they should have had armored vehicles.

And, overall, you're right. But the situation Rumsfeld has sent our troops into has put soldiers into positions they weren't well trained for. Though they all learn to fire a rifle, they don't all study combat tactics. Early on they put mechanics in escort conveys and people died because of it.
