all the years of my childhood, my grand mother always managed to get each of her grandchildren a brass or copper ornament with their name and the year engraved on there!!! After all these years, those are still the favorites....the "ex" somehow managed to get my true favorites....the "first christmas" ornaments of my oldest 2!!

My favorite decoration would have to be the kids' stockings....many I made myself out of pieces of felt and put their names and the year using fabric paint!! :D

My very favorite ornament is one greg bought me years ago. It plugs into the Xmastree lights. Its a cowboy on a rocking horse and when its turned on the cowboy rocks and it plays "Home on the Range"

I also love my tree skirt,a good friend surprised me with one year, she made it out of scraps she had around the house, its navjo looking.

My favorite ornaments are the old ones that came from my folks, and hung on our Christmas tree every year since probably before I was born. Lots of memories tied to them.

I have two favourite ornaments.

One is a black cat cut out of construction paper, with yellow eyes glued on, and a little pink nose. It is the first project my oldest son ever made on his own at nursery school. He made it to look like our cat George, so we call it George, and put it on the tree every year. That little piece of paper has been perched on the Christmas tree every year for the past 26 years. :D Our son's friends still go straight to the tree to find George every Christmas when they come to visit. :D :D

The other is an angel that son number 2 made in nursery school. She started out life as a toilet paper roll, with blue paper, sparkles, wings and a halo. Over the past 24 years, the poor girl has taken some wear, and has lost her wings, so looks more like a fancy toilet paper roll now. :D :D She still looks beautiful to us. :santa:

I still have ornaments that I made in kindergarten and grade school, along with a few of Mr Lilly's, and of course, both the kids made things too. I'd hafta say those are my favorites.

This got me to thinkin (wonderin) Do ya reckon the teachers think at the time that the craft projects that they have the kids do in class will be with those families for EVER?

My mom and dad got me an ornament every year with the date on them, and still does.. When I was married she gave me all the ornaments so I would have enough ornaments to decorate our tree... Some are in pretty tough shape, but bring back fond memories every year.

Speaking of the first Christmas.........

On Christmas eve every year our youngest son and I sit down and read a book about Mary and Joesph and how baby Jesus was born in the manger and the three kings and shepards coming to see the baby in the manger...............................

After we read the book my son looks up to me in great honesty and ask if my best friend Dawn was there............ I told him I was sure she was there........
Dawn my best friend is truely an angel.................

Now who do I know down that way that would do this perfect prank.......

Speaking of pranks:

My folks used to go to Texas for the winter and mom had a husker sign.. All of the folk's Texas friends use to do pranks to mom's husker sign.. Got to be quite the deal in the camp where they stayed...... It was all in fun, but poor old husker herbie took it in the shorts.... as to speak......
