kk i fixed the rhythm a lil bit anyway
Sometimes I get made fun of by the little city kids
Cuz I’m not one of those rich, preppy city girls
I don’t often get money and things from my mom and dad
They can’t afford jewels or diamonds or pretty pearls.
I can’t hang out with friends at the youth center on Fridays
Or go out shopping with them on Saturdays at the mall
I can’t go see all the cool concerts or be just like them
The list of things I can do like that is really quite small.
But I also get lots of things that those city kid’s don’t
I see things every day that they have never even seen
I can go sleep under the stars in the cool, peaceful night
Can get all dirty without worrying about being clean.
Every day I can go out and ride my bay or black horse
And view all the beautiful, green scenery of our place
We have lots of mountains full of trees to climb up and down
And also big flat meadows where we can all go and race.
Although I have to work outside on the ranch every day
And I can’t sleep in late like the other kids get to do
I can have lots of fun out in the middle of no-where
Although my adventures are understood by very few.
It kinda sucks not being able to hang out sometimes
But I wouldn’t change the way I live, not for anything
I love being able to have and play with animals
And listening when all of the pretty, wild birdies sing.
Oh, if only they knew what my life is like way out here
And the great beauty of living in the rough, wild country
They wouldn’t tease about being a tomboy and cowgirl
Instead they would all want to be somehow just more like me.
