Okra

That reminds me of Aggie Okra, Texas A & M has developed some maroon carrots.... Probably had nothin to do with gettin the okra maroon....but they'd love it lol

Pick em green n fry em.......I love fried green maters.

I love okra fixed most any way. I even eat it raw if it is less than 2 inches long.
But the best okra is that two to three inch long stuff with the stem end cut off. Then put in a frying pan with just a little butter and stir until it sort of browns a little.

Another love is that green pepper jelly. Put it on a cracker with cream cheese and it will knock you naked.

OD/NT... Pull the entire plant up by the roots and hang it somewhere upside down where it won't freeze.. the tomatoes will ripen... We have a bunch of plants hanging from the rafters in the garage right now..

gonna be more careful with what I put on crackers from now on :shock: LOL

About the red okra-It turns green when cooked :cry: Kinda like the burgandy snap beans or the rainbow chard :cry: Red okra does good dryed in flower arrangements..unusual looking :)

My tomato plants are loades with Big Green Tomatoes that may not make it to Red - if the weather keep going like it is I may half to pick them green

OD-Can't remember which company, but if you want me to send you some seeds when the pods dry out PM me your address and wait for the mailman!

Weard Year - Our temps normaly run in the 90° this time of year - to day its 9:50 AM and only 56° - - I might need to try this.

Last year was Warm - I had 2 Black Bell Pepper plants that made it all year so I left them (Expermint) - These peppers were small - this years plants put out nice big peppers

There are many acres of peppers with in a mile or so
Time for:
Green Pepper jelly
Red Pepper Jelly
Jalapeno Pepper Jelly
or
You can ad Jalapenos to one or both to Tast
Green / Red with Cream Cheese on Cracker for Xmas

red pepper jelly with cream cheese on crackers is a favorite-
for the uninitiated it sounds horrible but isn't :!: for some reason it is hard to find in our area.
