On Eve of Speech, Obama Smears Netanyahu

President Barack Obama took a stab at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with Reuters on Monday, on the eve of Netanyahu’s controversial speech to a special joint session of Congress on Tuesday morning. Obama said that Netanyahu “made all sorts of claims” about the interim nuclear deal with Iran that turned out to be untrue. Yet Obama mischaracterized Netanyahu’s remarks, and misrepresented Iranian compliance with the terms of the interim deal.

Obama’s full comment on Monday was: “Netanyahu made all sorts of claims. This was going to be a terrible deal. This was going to result in Iran getting 50 billion dollars worth of relief. Iran would not abide by the agreement. None of that has come true. It has turned out that in fact, during this period we’ve seen Iran not advance its program. In many ways, it’s rolled back elements of its program.”

However, each element of that claim is untrue–and some are outright lies.

The deal is a “terrible” deal, by the standards of the international community when Obama came to office, when the UN Security Council had banned any nuclear enrichment at all by Iran.

Furthermore, Netanyahu did not say that Iran would receive “50 billion dollars worth of relief.”

Obama seems to be misquoting an Israeli claim that sanctions relief would be $20 billion rather than the $7 billion the Obama administration promised. The Israelis were later proven to be correct.

Obama is also wrong when he claims Iran has abided by the agreement. It has violated that agreement in at least five ways–and one of those violations was so serious that the U.S. actually complained to the UN Security Council.

Iran claims otherwise, of course–which is why Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey likened Obama’s rhetoric to “talking points…straight out of Tehran.” Obama’s apparent confusion shows exactly why Bibi’s speech is necessary and urgent.

Bibi has NO business coming here to speak and politic and Boehner had no business asking him. NONE. We own Israel...we buy and pay for them with every amount of money we GIVE to them. They are our bee-atch!!!

And, if he plans and does tell ' secrets' that is WRONG.

He's arrogant and useless and whiney. Israel has enough fire power that WE paid for and GAVE them to take care of Iran, they don't need us.

I think you miss the whole point. Obama has no business trying to influence who addresses Congress. They are supposed to be three equal branches, even though he believes he's a dictator, he really isn't and needs to be reigned in whenever Congress can muster the balls to do so. Secondly, will Israel have plenty of weapons when the rogue state of Valerie Jarrett's birthplace gets nuclear weapons? Will anyone? Do you trust the Obama regime and John Kerry to prevent that from happening with their track record? Did you listen to Netanyahu's speech to AIPAC? Did he sound arrogant, useless, and whiney? I didn't think so.

Netanyahu made no bones that if Israel has to stand alone, they will stand.
There is an election in Israel in two weeks,
looks to me like Netanyahu is more concerned about the well-being of the world than he is about getting re-elected.
That hasn't been the case in America for quite some time. Obama really insulted us all when he wasn't physically present and didn't even plan to listen to Netanyahu. Hoping for the best from Iran doesn't make them weaker, it makes them stronger. I'm glad Netanyahu came and spoke. Maybe he woke up some people in power.

This communism dun got outta hand. So now congress can't act independently? So now, one of the strongest proponents of freedom the earth has ever seen shouldn't speak to congress when invited?

Do these anti freedom communists find an ally in anti freedom Iran? Is that the rub I'm missing. After Iran nukes Israel, these same communists that tell us how wonderful our currency collapsing economy is, will lie about their fingerprints on the nukes that bomb Israel.

Some communists with which I'm familiar, simply haven't the capacity to comprehend the brilliance of that great Christian Netanyahu.

when a liberal like Menendez throws obama under the bus it is a sure sign that ol dictator is losing his grip ..

and besides,.. who would you rather have standing with you,.. wet noodle Obama or,.
Born in Tel Aviv to secular Jewish parents,[1][2] Netanyahu is the first Israeli prime minister born in Israel after the establishment of the state. Netanyahu joined the Israel Defense Forces during the Six-Day War in 1967 and became a team leader in the Sayeret Matkal special forces unit. He took part in many missions, including Operation Inferno (1968), Operation Gift (1968) and Operation Isotope (1972), during which he was shot in the shoulder. He fought on the front lines in the War of Attrition and the Yom Kippur War in 1973, taking part in special forces raids along the Suez Canal, and then leading a commando assault deep into Syrian territory.[3] He was wounded in combat twice.[4] He achieved the rank of captain before being discharged. Netanyahu served as the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations from 1984 to 1988, as a member of the Likud party, and was Prime Minister from June 1996 to July 1999. He moved from the political arena to the private sector after being defeated in the 1999 election for Prime Minister by Ehud Barak.

Recent funding legislation shows that the congress can't "totally" act alone..

to do so, many opposition leaders have to cross party lines and vote for what is right to get a veto proof law passed..

and clearly the liberal party of "NO" will do anything it can to protect Dictator Obama's executive power..

Hell yes, Congress can independently ask an individual to address congress. No question about it.

Does kolanuravan mean stupid in some Tibetan dialect? I never said Iran was communist, get a third grader to read it to you - that should clear things up for you. You see, I'm typing slowly just for you, the democoms hate freedom (see net seizure) and the totalitarians in Iran hate freedom. Nowhere did I say Iran is communists but they share a hatred of freedom with democoms and a love if the totalitarian state.

I'm not sure what it means to " graduate in fourth grade" is that where you learn Israel is a Christian state? You know cow pie bingo has a better chance of electing a good leader than letting the average democom vote.

This is on the mark awesome.

“Netanyahu’s speech was necessary, it was masterful, it was cogent, it was honest, it was inspiring. And the Democrats in response — including the President — acted like snitty, bitchy high school girls.”

Did you have any problem with Pelosi inviting Calderon to address Congress concerning immigration reform?

What the hell does "should be issues by the Congress and the President" mean? This English as a second language thing is difficult.
