One less problem.
We have had this mangy coyote wandering around for the last couple months. He actually hadn't caused any problems, but calving is coming up, and I have my chickens and ducks. Sooner or later he would become a problem. Add in the fact that he had mange, and something definitely had to be done. I have seen him several times over the last week, but of course never had any way to do anything about him.
Well, I found him today. I wasn't 3 feet away from it. Was checking the calves in the corral, and just walked by the bale feeder. At first I thought it was a cat, but it just didn't look quite right. I will tell you that it kinda spooked me, I really didn't want him jumping out at me. But he was curled up, and never even knew I was there. Don't know what all was going on, whether he was just sound asleep or what, but I was even talking to the calves, and 4-H steer, and he never moved. I had to go get the gun, since I really didn't think I would need it to check on the cows in the corral. He was still curled up in the hay when I got back, never moved. Never knew I was there.[/quote]
