At least 15 people were shot in Chicago in a recent single night, according to the Chicago Tribune. Those injured ranged in age from a 16-year-old girl struck in the leg in a drive-by shooting, to a 48-year-old man shot when two other men tried to rob him. None of the shootings were fatal but one victim is in a critical condition in hospital.
Multiple shootings within single weekends are tragically common in Chicago. In 2012, Chicago's bloodiest weekend saw 46 people shot, 8 of whom died. In June 2013, one weekend saw 47 shot and 9 killed.
