Started out fairly mild but when i ran down the road to feed the bull I had one of the newly purchased calves with them. He must got through the feed bunk out of the feed alley up a big hill across the hiway and in with 20 bull. Deep snow in every ditch and low spot.
Came back and fed a couple other pens, Coming down the cement feed bunk I must have rubbed it hard and caught a wire or rebar and stuck it in the side wall.
Darn that Gcreek. He said i jinxed myself the other day when I said i was careful.
Well the tire man was coming out to put a tube in the back tire on the other tractor so when it was done i back mine in the shop. He thought he could plug it but it didn't work.(Never does for me) So he took it with him and will put a tube in it in the morning. Only 35 miles to town.Ohyea I busted a 1 1/6 3/4 drive socket on the lug nuts. Guess i don't know my own strength.
Finally about 5 my dau and I saddled up and went to get the calf home.We cut him out with 3 young bulls. Once out the gate instead of crossing the hiway they had to run up it. The neighbor was coming down the hill so he turned them and we got them started for home. Dang that snow was hard and deep. Places our horse could walk a couple steps on top then sink to their bellies. One bull was fighting so we chased him back across to the pasture and continued home with two bulls and the calf. The horses sure worked up a sweat. They are still in the barn cooling out.
