Was up at 6 to get a couple bulls loaded into the 5th wheel and hauled up the road where a pit together load was being loaded on a semi for the sale next Tuesday. Had to run home at 6:30 after we had the bulls on the trailer to get some air for a tire on the trailer. A young gal from Alabama that Tenny used to work with up in Jackson was just leaving our house. Tenny said she was supposed to be in Jackson by 7:00 well over an hour drive most of it up the canyon. Well got the semi loaded and the sheep chased out of some alfalfa , get home and Tenny is coming out of the house her old boss had called the Alabama gal was not at work and it was past 9. Sue and I was heading to the city of IF when Tenny called the gal had gotten sick and pulled over in the canyon then had fallen asleep. So the heart rush settled.
Sue and I went to the Hospital in the Falls and visited an 80plus year old man that lives in our community. He had been elk hunting early in the week, when he got home he was standing on a six inch high step stool to work on a grandfather clock, he not even 5 foot tall. Well the clock started falling he fell and tried to keep the clock off him. His head hit a heat register along the wall and broke the top 2 vertebras. His wife was feeding him when we got there he was up in a chair his head in a birdcage in traction. This guy in the Navy and saw the flag go up at Iwo Jima.
Well he has spinadifada (sp), and a piece of the top two vertebras has broke off, they are going to try and go in either from the back or front and put a screw in to hold the broke piece on each.
This old guy always puts a smile on your face, said he still had hunting to do this fall.
He put up a few acre horse pasture this summer with a 3 foot push sickle bar mower then forked it into piles hauled it to his barn with a Jackson fork on his tractor and pushed it in top of his barn with a bull fork.
