Heart surgery in India costs $1,583 vs. $106,385 in US

That is all. Carry on.

That's fine. But clearly beside the point. 10-12% of the doctors here in the U.S. are from India and a multitude of doctors in India are trained here in the U.S.

Medical costs are out of control in the U.S. and ObamaCare won't fix it. Quite the contrary.

both of my doctors at the VA are Indian... and by most accounts fairly competent...

my wife's oncologist (cancer doctor) is Indian and saved her life..

if I didn't have insurance,.. I wouldn't have a S100,000 to pay for the heart surgery.. but I could easily come up with a few grand for a flight, the surgery and a nice vacation on top of that....

given the alternative.. a crippling heart condition and a crippling hospital bill... I think I would take the chance...

I believe there's a $40K, more or less, fee for the operating room. Lots of liability built in I'm sure. Probably not much chance of suing your doctor in India.

That's why they quit delivering babies in Plentywood MT. The malpractice insurance cost more then they could make off delivering 10 babies a year and they were only delivering 5 or 6 for a while. :?
