Rasmussen: Just 8% Now Claim Tea Party Membership
Monday, 07 Jan 2013 01:00 PM

Views of the Tea Party movement are at their lowest point ever, with voters for the first time evenly divided when asked to match the views of the average Tea Party member against those of the average member of Congress, according to Rasmussen Reports.

Only eight percent now say they are members of the Tea Party, down from a high of 24 percent in April 2010 just after passage of the national health care law.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 30 percent of likely U.S. voters now have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party. Half (49 percent) of voters have an unfavorable view of the movement. Twenty-one percent are undecided.
-------------------------------

Sixteen percent of Republicans now say they are Tea Party members, compared to two percent of Democrats and eight percent of voters not affiliated with either major party.

Fewer than that will probably admit they voted for Buckwheat if you exempt those nursing from the gov't tit. Maybe someday you'll learn that "TeaParty" is not a party at all so it is somewhat hard to be a "member".

The Tea Party movement is an American political movement that advocates strict adherence to the United States Constitution, reducing U.S. government spending and taxes, and reduction of the U.S. national debt and federal budget deficit. The movement is generally considered to be partly conservative, partly libertarian, and partly populist. The movement has sponsored protests and supported political candidates since 2009.

In 2010, Tea Party-endorsed candidates upset established Republicans in several primaries, such as Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Nevada, New York, South Carolina, and Utah, giving a new momentum to the conservative cause in the 2010 elections. In the 2010 midterm elections.

These people should certainly be ashamed of themselves.

What I've always found interesting about OT's protestations of the group is that, if he's to be believed (something that's more difficult with each passing day) based on his comments on this forum over the years, one would think he was a tea bagger himself as his stances often seem to mirror those of the baggers.

For instance, OT waxing eloquently about how important the Constitution is to him personally:

The strength of this country for over 200 years hasn't been because of our economy greatness or our military might- its because of our ideals- and our founding beliefs in truth and justice for all- and our laws and Constitution that puts noone (not even King George or his Stooges) above those laws and our ability to always put our ideals and morality above those who oppose us....

Some of these quotes are priceless.

So, OT always tells us he's for the man, not the cult party, right:

Anyone that will back a person because of personal loyalty and to what they think/know personally they can-- instead of just because of the cult they bow down to is that much better of a man...

Yet here we have baggers bucking the party trend:

In 2010, Tea Party-endorsed candidates upset established Republicans in several primaries, such as Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Nevada, New York, South Carolina, and Utah, giving a new momentum to the conservative cause in the 2010 elections. In the 2010 midterm elections.

I'm guessing OT is all for someone bucking the cult party others bow to unless, of course, they're tea baggers. Their bucking the cult party doesn't count. :???:

Tea Bagger:

The movement is generally considered to be partly conservative, partly libertarian, and partly populist. Note: populists tend to claim that they side with "the people" against "the elites".

OT:

Like I said- my label is Independent... Some issues I'm liberal- some I'm very conservative- some I'm in the middle... I believe in thinking as an individual- and not have a cult and their D.C. leaders telling me how I should think....

......and the neocon elites need their new semi slave class for cheap pool cleaners, maids, and Romneys construction crew and their profiteering is more important than the health and welfare of the common folk......

:???: :???: :???:

I'm thinking that if it walks like a drunken duck and quacks like a drunken duck, it's probably a drunken duck.

Just sayin'

ot claims a lot of things but he is one who tries to portray himself unbiased and in the middle. He only does that because he can actually see the leftwingnuts drowning and when they do, he will just claim that "it wasn't me"

He has tried to sell so much leftwingernut crap that you know he owns it.

How does one join the Tea Party?

it's a grass roots sort of thing. there is no form to fill out or way to join,.. you just show up, speak up, or support the ideals..

no secret handshake to acknowledge your membership :???:

You mean I don't have to own a 1/2 dozen assault weapons and a few 50 cals?

I don't need to show my KKK or Ayrian Nation credentials? :???: :???:

aryan or avian?

for the aryan's and kkk it only applies in a certain remote Montana precinct .. it isn't a national requirement,.. just one of those local units that have hidden false flag leaders.. (you know the liberal who claims to be an independent/libertarian guys who extorts the movement for cash, and when they don't pay he smears the name)

if it is the avains, you have to show them your bird.
