Last year we were out near our handling facilities after weaning our calves having a coke or three and we looked up and down the road came a couple heifer calves. Opened up a gate and let them into a holding pen.

10 minutes later another 2 came running down the road. Locked those two up. Turned up they broke out of a neighbor 4 miles away, worked there way through the corn fields and ended up listening to the belloring of my calves . Over the next week ro so 2 more turned up until only one was missing. It wasn't until the sheriff was alerted that one neighbor "found" one in with his calves.. Sure it too you that long...

Calves, sheep but not too many horses have been rounded up around here... Gotta love the country,

I did something similar...well not really but close....but up home on the gravel road that a lot of the local ranchers used one day going to town i had a huge white Pekin Drake duck that had died....the thing was huge...well i packed it down that road a ways and dropped it in the middle. HAHA....the thing had tire marks stopping to investigate and it got called everything from a pelican to a chicken to a seagull, but i don't think anyone really knows how this big huge white tame duck just shows up in the middle of a gravel road in the middle of nowhere. I guess that is just my twisted sense of humor sometimes!
