ONLY ONE PRESIDENT

The invasion of France on June 6, 1944 was a triumph of intelligence,
coordination, secrecy, and planning. The bold attack was also a tremendous
risk. Ultimately it succeeded because of individual soldiers' bravery in
combat.

An invading army had not crossed the unpredictable, dangerous English
Channel since 1688 -- and once the massive force set out, there was no
turning back. The 5000-vessel armada stretched as far as the eye could
see, transporting over 150,000 men and nearly 30,000 vehicles across the
channel to the French beaches. Six parachute regiments -- over 13,000 men
-- were flown from nine British airfields in over 800 planes. More than
300 planes dropped 13,000 bombs over coastal Normandy immediately in
advance of the invasion.

By nightfall on June 6, more than 9,000 Allied soldiers were dead or
wounded, but more than 100,000 had made it to shore, securing French and
coastal villages.

D-Day Monument

In recent times, only 3 presidents have failed to go to the D-Day Monument
that honors the soldiers killed on D-Day. Those 3 Presidents were :

1. Barack Obama 2010

2. Barack Obama 2011

3. Barack Obama 2012

For the past 70 years, all presidents, except Obama, have paid tribute to
the fallen soldiers killed on D-Day. This year, instead of honoring the
soldiers, he made a campaign trip on Air Force 1 to California to raise
funds for the upcoming election

Well a quick search showed me that G.W. Bush visited Normandy only once on d-day and only twice in his two terms in office. Obama visited Normandy in 2009.

Was he selling his Stimulus plan to the French, or campaigning for a Nobel Peace prize, just before bombing Libya, extrajudicial killings and a record number of drones attacks

It would seem that if a sitting President was doing a good job, he wouldn't even have to campaign for his second term. If he was leading responsibly, winning the second term would be automatic and mostly unchallenged. With Odinkledoodle this is surely not the case.

And you would think that his far rightwingnut opposition would be honorable enough to put out truth in their e-mails in their challenge rather than the same bunch they send to FH and the other rose colored glass wearing folks like her........

Thankfully honest nonpartial folks like Bullhauler bring forward the truth that so much of both sides anymore try to misrepresent.... :D

Yep. Someone out there somewhere is posting false information on the internet and spreading it around.

If you want a direct source, just listen to the left/Obama. They don't need any help.

And there lies the difference.

Funny thing about it is the original post is not entirely wrong. Somewhat deceptive, yet otherwise spot on.

Obama says oui to Normandy invitation

President Obama said Tuesday afternoon that he would accept an invitation to visit Normandy this June to mark the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

Obama made the announcement during a joint press conference with French President Francois Hollande, who had earlier invited Obama to attend the ceremony.

"This will be a strong message because we will commemorate the sacrifice made by those soldiers. But we will also celebrate reconciliation and peace," Hollande said.

Obama will become the first president to visit the D-Day memorial ceremonies twice during his presidency. He marked the 65th anniversary of the landings in 2009. President George W. Bush marked the 60th anniversary in 2004 and delivered a Memorial Day address there in 2002.

During a greeting ceremony earlier in the day, Obama recognized two veterans of the 1944 battle for the French beaches.

That the stories about Obama spending as much time OUT OF THE COUNTRY AS POSSIBLE in the next year to avoid the embarrassment of the Dem candidates in the 2014 election shunning him are true.
