OOPS!!

First this:

Asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."

But on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said something quite different.

While insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a "kingmaker," Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."

Then this:

The Obama press office just sent out the following statement, via email:

I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.

Well, I guess that clears THAT up!!

From the information filed for the warrants and in the indictment-- its apparent someone meeting with the Governor snitched on him-- and then wore a consensual body wire during a meeting- which allowed the government to get enough reasonable cause to obtain all the wiretapping warrants...

It will be interesting who :???: Which one of these potential Senatorial picks put principles over getting the appointment :???:
Thats the one that should get appointed...

From the Chicago Tribune:

As prosecutors won a conviction in June of this year on Rezko's corruption charges, they also began climbing the ladder of Blagojevich's inner circle. In October, the Tribune disclosed that John Wyma, the governor's longtime friend, former congressional chief of staff and major state lobbyist, was named in a subpoena over his work for a hospital client.

On Friday, the Tribune disclosed Wyma was cooperating with federal authorities and his cooperation led to investigators recording the governor.

It appears it was this guy, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's more than one. These types of people usually turn in a heartbeat when it's their butt on the line. The weird thing is, Blagojevich has been under some sort of scrutiny since soon after he was first elected, and he knew it. Can't imagine why he wouldn't use a little more caution in his dealings. I guess some people just think they're untouchable (think Nixon). I'm guessing once Blago realizes he can't buy himself out of this one, and is looking at some real prison time, he'll sing like a canary and take as many folks down with him as he can. Should get interesting.

I don't think Obama is directly involved, but who knows? There's no doubt there will be a few people indicted that were close to both men in some way or another. Either way, Obama will be tainted by this thing, if for no other reason than the fact that he rose through the same ranks, and dealt with some of the same people that Blagojevich did. Couldn't be worse timing for him, or the country.

Heck the governor hasn't even been charged with any crime yet. I wouldn't resign either.....The way the dems are putting him down and talking "insanity" he'll probably end up on some funny farm and a short time latter commit suicide. Then his wife in her dispair will be killed in an accident. Poof....problem solved Chicago Style....or is it "Clinton Style"?
