Opportunity for Diplomacy?

If one assumes Iran is serious about negotiations on its nuclear weapons program, then yes, it could be an opportunity.

I'm not yet convinced they've got anything of the sort in mind, more likely just stalling for time.

This was another failure of the Bush admin in my opinion, leaving this mess for the next administration.

I believe the Iranians see the US as weaker than ever at this point and therefore feel bolder than ever as well.

I also suspect that the only way Iran's nuclear bomb ambitions will be stopped is by the Israelis. They'll eventually do it with or without us. The aftermath won't be pretty.

IMO - there is a lot of truth in this statement - and some of those who publicly castigate the country that stops Iran - if it does indeed happen - will privately thank them.
