Optimism and Rain

Went to town this morning to get a haircut-- and take in an old friends bull sale...Was going to take the pickup and pick up some sacks of oats for the saddle horses- but then saw the forecast for afternoon thunder showers...

Decided to take the kids old Olds 98, and forget the oats- but knew the windshield wipers were shot- so after getting a haircut I stopped by the Auto parts store and picked up a set....Wasn't optomistic enough to install them tho....

Then after attending a good bull sale - Nelson brothers Simmental/ red/black angus composite sale ( that averaged about $700-800 more than last year)- and watching old cull bulls selling for $70+ a cwt-- I stopped at the water hole...Pretty soon it started raining-- and I had to go borrow a screwdriver from the bartender so I could change the blades in the rain to drive home :) :)

We've had about 2 hours of steady rain (1/2 inch here with reports of some places getting over 2 inchs)- and the radar shows rain streaming north all the way from Wyoming.... :) :)

Still drizzling this morning- but looks like its about done... 1.1 inches down here on the river- water standing everywhere-- but the good news is up north near the pastures there are reports of 1.5 inches up to 3 inches in some places....

I'm seeing something you don't see around here too often-- water standing everywhere  :)

Seems everyone got 2 inches around these parts. Now it is 70-75 degrees
and you can see the grass grow.

Jinglebob, did you get any moisture? I hope so.

These have been some beautiful days. Just the kind that
makes you glad to be alive. :D
