The minorities re-elected president Obama, but I'm going with Katty. It's the Tea Party and thinking of the Tea Party and people like that that are driving the Republicans out of contention as a national party. You cannot win nationally if you don't know something about the way the country's changed, and the Tea Party seems to think the country can go back 25 or 30 years. The greatest slogan that I hated during this last campaign was “We want to take back our country.” Guys, it's not your country anymore - it's our country and you're part of it, but that thinking is going to defeat Republicans nationally if they don't get rid of it.

Hate to ruin the guys day.. but it is 'still my country" ,.. I was born here, served it, and will stay here to the end...

yet I wonder how well that would have gone over if we said it and directed it at the liberal special interest "voting blocks"

LEWES, Del. — Authorities say ABC News veteran and former correspondent Sam Donaldson has waived arraignment on a driving under the influence charge in Delaware.

Police in the southern coastal town of Lewes say the 78-year-old Donaldson was stopped Dec. 1 for a traffic violation. Police say the officer determined Donaldson had been drinking and gave him field sobriety tests.

Donaldson was arrested and later released.

Court officials said Thursday that Donaldson waived the arraignment set for Friday. The case has not yet been scheduled for trial.

Donaldson was twice chief White House correspondent for ABC News, covering Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. He also co-hosted “PrimeTime Live” with Diane Sawyer and the ABC News Sunday morning broadcast “This Week with Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts.”

He must have been at the "watering hole"

I heard that children play there.....it's a regular Six Flags over Montana. :D

If you're going to take the kids, make sure you show up early. The bus to go antelope hunting leaves at 2pm, and the machine guns are handed out on the way.

You'll want to get a window seat on the side of the bus where the antelope will be.

In many small towns in Montana, bars are kinda a social center.

They're often the only place open after 6 or so. If you're on the road late, wreck a tire, break down, need help---it's where you head. It's where you ask directions. It's where you check road conditions. It's your rondyvous place, for parties coming from different directions.

People have become more aware of the dangers of alcohol abuse, and far less tolerant. When I was growing up "Sorry--but I was drunk" was a somewhat acceptable explanation. Not anymore.

So--with almost all small town bars, serving food has become a far bigger part of their sales.

You more 'urban ranchers' don't seem to get this---kids go there after late practice, if they need to wait for a ride. And after night games. Or maybe just to hang out.

It's where people come to post auction flyers. Or lost horse flyers. Or benefit flyers----and don't think bar owners don't get hit up--and contribute---to every single 'good cause' coming down the road.

It's where you meet people from outa town. Teetotalers come in to visit and eat. I've got a daughter 30--has chosen to never drink--but she's right at home in one, has worked in them, has played and sang in them. She's white collar professional, very good at what she does in city---but, Gasp again!---you just might see her in the ol' 'water hole'

And--Ya---some people even have a drink or several--Gasp!

Yep-- and one time after working a shipment of about a 1000 head of calves- the District Inspector and I were in the "waterhole" with a couple of cattle buyers and the ranchers shipping-doing up the paperwork and checks--- and it was brought up that in certain parts of this state where large numbers of calves/yearlings are contracted and sold straight to the buyer-- that probably more sales are initiated and/or paperwork on sales completed in one of the neighboring waterholes than take place in the local auction yards... :)
