I received this eamail in response to a question I asked of him.
Thought you might want to give credit where credit is due.

Thank you for contacting me regarding your concerns with a clean water supply. It's good to hear from you.

A clean and healthy water supply is the backbone of any community. Providing the resources and funding to Montana's communities so they can maintain and improve their water infrastructures has always been one of my highest priorities.

As a member of the House Appropriations Committee I was able to secure needed funds for the St. Mary's Water project, vital to maintaining the economic health of the Hi-Line. Additionally, I've secured funding for the Fort Peck/Dry Prairie Water project and the Rocky Boy/North Central Montana project. Between these two projects, nearly 60,000 Montanans will have access to clean drinking water, something every Montanan deserves.

As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to work to fund these and other water projects. Working to ensure Montana communities have access to a clean and healthy water supply has always been, and will continue to be, of utmost importance to me as Montana's Congressman.

Thanks again for contacting me. For more information and to sign up for my e-newsletter, please visit http://www.house.gov/rehberg. Keep in touch.

Sincerely,
Denny Rehberg
Montana's Congressman

No mention of stimulus? :?

If you follow Denny- thats been kind of the joke around the state...He puts out e-mails and letters ( I got one too) promoting himself claiming he did all these great things- and taking credit for them-- Dry Prairie- expand irrigation- expanded childrens health care coverage-- (much of which was in the Stimulus bill) but doesn't tell everyone that he also voted against everyone of these bills...

Kind of a two faced fellow....

He also stuck the building of the "Montana Worlds Trade Center" into the Stimulus bill- which John McCain called one the top ten Porkulous projects of all...

"Tmr I am gonna tweet the TOP TEN PORKIEST PROJECTS in the Omnibus Spending bill the Congress is about to pass," Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., wrote on his Twitter page yesterday.

And today he did.

They are:

"#10. $1.7M "for a honey bee factory" in Weslaco, TX

"#9. $475,000 to build a parking garage in Provo City, Utah

"#8. $200,000 "tattoo removal violence outreach program to could help gang members or others shed visible signs of their past" REALLY?

"#7. $300,000 for the Montana World Trade Center - enough said

"#6. $1 million for mormon cricket control in Utah - is that the species of cricket or a game played by the brits?

"#5. $650,000 for beaver management in North Carolina and Mississippi"

McCain had tweeted a question about how one manages a beaver, but he deleted it after the comment provoked a twizzard.

"#4. $2.1 million for the Center for Grape Genetics in New York - quick peel me a grape.

"#3. $332,000 for the design and construction of a school sidewalk in Franklin, Texas - not enough $ for schools in the stimulus?

"#2. $2 million 'for the promotion of astronomy' in Hawaii - because nothing says new jobs for average Americans like investing in astronomy"

And 30 minutes ago, Mr. McCain finally offered the big payoff:

"#1. $1.7 million for pig odor research in Iowa"

Then moaned and groaned about all the pork in the Stimulus bill and voted against it.... :???:

With Rehberg you have to look at which side of his mouth he's talking out of...

If you look far enough- you will find where he voted no on it too--and the omnibus bill to fund it (which passed anyway) and then led the Montana coalition in the Legislature to fight against it in Helena....

Just like wanting a Montana World Trade Center to expand the states trading abilities- but voting No against allowing trade with Cuba- which many Ag groups had tryed to make a sister trade country like Japan...But he changed his vote- and voted No for which he got $10,500 in Lobbyiest money from a Florida pro Embargo group.... :???:

More typical Denny:

"If we are going to help the Cuban people break free of the shackles of communism, then we must permit a flow of people, commerce and ideas," Rehberg said in October 2003.
For almost a year after that, Rehberg continued to vote as he had previously -- to loosen the embargo.

On July 7, 2004, Rehberg voted for an amendment that would have softened new restrictions on the shipment of gift parcels to Cuba. He also voted with embargo opponents on Sept. 21, 2004, for an amendment that would have made it easier for Cuban-Americans to visit family in the country.

But the next day, his vote abruptly shifted.

On Sept. 22, 2004, Rehberg voted the opposite way and opposed the amendment that would have lifted economic embargoes on Cuba.

Gee, now why would Dennis suddenly make an about-face on policy that would have benefitted Montana's agricultural products and also permitted "a flow of people, commerce, and ideas" that would "break the shackles" of a Communist dictatorship?

Several months later, Rehberg's campaign received $1,000 from a pro-embargo group, the U.S. Cuba Democracy Political Action Committee. Since then, the group has given him $10,500.
