Tuesday evening we went to Chadron to hear the Doo-Wah Riders band. They are from California. Here is a review of them that was on the internet, "There is no one else like the Doo-Wah Riders. For over 20 years they have been riding their own patch of the musical range throughout the west. They possess the rare combination of may years of experience and youthful energy, fired by a love for what they do. The Doo-Wah Riders are country, with a unique, original sound. They define their style as "high energy country with a cajun twist". Their tight musicianship and powerful arrangements of classic, contemporary, and original songs have made them favorites everywhere they go."
We enjoyed their music very much.

Sorting cows
Two-year-old heifers go one way, and old cows go another way. We will take better care of these two age-groups.
The middle-aged cows are left. They get to go back up in the hills until snow forces us to bring them home to feed them hay.
Once in a while I have to hunker down and act like I'm working.
Putting the hay processor on the hay hauler is always a project.
A friend from California who grew up in our small town. He became a well-respected lawyer but still remembers where he grew up. He comes back to Nebraska every fall to hunt ducks. He is 84 years young and still going strong.
