I'm going to have to bite my tongue. Probably completely in half.

A congressman wants to meet to discuss power. I am going to have to stay on that subject - and he aint republican.

I will tell him how Biden is completely clueless when it came to his discussion of wind energy and VARS. I will bing the proof and put it in his grubby little hands. Will he be able to look me in the eye?

There comes a time when you have to do what's right for Texas and for your country. This is not going to be easy by any means.

he'll probably be gone soon after you put the facts in front of him.

good luck

There's more to it than that. I could give him the facts via email. He could get them himself form a lot of sources if that is truly all he wants.

He must have questions.

Hopefully he has some good questions.

Will this be work related or personal?

Work. But I'll be wearing a GOP button or something. Count on it.

You won't need the button, the facts and honesty will be enough, to show how you vote.

I can only hope we get all the business finished and then he decides to ask my opinion on other things. Maybe I can then tell him how I really feel about "things".

I just hope you do not come back wearing a Election button of his and defending wind power when it is all over! Keep your tinfoil hat on! Don't let them brain wash you!

Give him some answers, just lay it out and explain it. You've got truth and common sense on your side - you can't lose a rational discussion.

Thanks folks. I'll take my own coffee Tam :D

I am all for wind power Aplus. You just need some type of conventional power to such that you can control VARS on the grid. A lot of folks think of VARS as voodoo. :D

This will be similar to the way I met dubya, way back before he went up that food chain.

Here's hoping that Obama has come to his senses on nuke power and wind and hydro and conventional units.

The single biggest break through will have to come from battery technology. That is where everything lags the most. If we get batteries perfected, solar can do a lot for all of us.

while I'm not up on power generation, anymore, as a former generation plant operator.. I do understand that when you try to parallel dissimilar systems you must be able to control the leading/lagging current or it will oscillate.. how does wind generation factor into that?

is it due to it's inability to take on the additional load with out slowing and dropping off line? or does a wind generator try to take on more load?

They don't "motor" when they are sync'd in as you would think. Yes they have to be in parallel but they have their own controls which regulate. They tend peak more.

I work in generation and don't deal with the grid. The comptroller calls us and tells us to cut back on power and increase vars. I am sure most wind is DC and then goes through an inverter. My nephew would better answer since he deals with transmission.

I think we both been on the same page for a few years now with batteries!

Once they get batteries better, cars, solar and wind can all three take off!

It makes me sick that I have such a bad taste in my mouth towards GM because I been an advocate of the Chevy Volt for some time. I think it is the best step forward made in a long time.
