but somehow I've ended up cooking for company, two of them Egyptian Moslems here working on their English. Should be a memorable anniversary though not of the usual ilk.

Mr. nr promises he'll take me out to lunch later this week

Congratulations to the two of you. That is a pretty big milestone that you have accomplished. You are shining examples to the rest of us. :)

It was an interesting evening. A bit difficult understanding their English since they seem to add extra syllables, slurring some yet talking very fast which must be their speed in Arabic. Anyway two things came through loud and clear: they are peace loving Moslems who are upset that the media portrays all Moslems as terrorists and they were quite relieved to learn that America is not at all like what Hollywood portrays. They really thought they'd be scared to walk down the streets but feel quite safe and happy in our town. Also they thought everything would be concrete and cars and can't get over the green, green green (sort of like you ranchers  :lol2:  )

If your guests were Cairenes ... that's all they see practically is concrete and pavement and little to no green at all!!

Glad you had a good evening on many levels.

Would you really expect them to tell you any different?

If more Moslems would speak out against their counterparts maybe people would look at them differently.

Wait!.....................they are afraid too? Wonder why?
