Our pipelines are at capacity, hope you didn't need oil?

CALGARY - With a glut of Canadian crude being produced, the nation's network of pipelines have reached their capacity, says a spokesman for Canada's top oil mover.

While analysts had expected to squeeze a few more years out of existing pipeline infrastructure, Enbridge spokesman Todd Nogier said those lines are now full, prompting the need to build more.

We have a pipeline about 10 miles to the east of us. It was built to take oil to Poplar MT. This summer a intersecting pipeline was built from Trenton ND to Outlook MT and the direction of the pipeline is being reversed so North Dakota Bakken oil can be pumped north to get into the Trans Canada system,

It gets a little tiring with the US riding our coat tails.

Maybe we should build one east, so the folks in ontario do not have to buy their oil from the US.

Sending more Alberta crude to eastern refineries, then shipping it across the Atlantic - where there is already lots of tanker traffic - could mean better prices for the product. From the East Coast, tankers could carry the oil to booming Asian markets through the Panama Canal.

Even if the oil wasn't sent offshore, it could replace the millions of barrels that Eastern Canada relies on from Venezuela and the North Sea.

Read it on Global News: Eastern Canada could be gateway for Alberta oil if Keystone pipeline gets nixed

It would be great to see Canada build its own oil pipelines and packing plants and refineries. Then you too could be more like a real country. :)

If I'm not mistaken, it has something to do with the NAFTA agreement Clinton forced upon us.

On another site I read and post on, Americans threaten to invade, if we don't sell you our oil.

Probably go the way of 1812, would be my guess.

Do you suppose if we torch the White House again they could come up with a better colour to paint it?
