Left early Saturday morning for a lil trip to New Braunsfel, TX to a Swap meet. Mr Lilly and a cousin of his are into the "Rat Rods". The cousin has one that's almost finished, and Mr Lilly has one that hasn't made it into the shop yet. He went lookin for parts, but we came back with one in better shape than the one he's got, so guess his will become the "parts car" now.
Here's what we brought home, there's alot more parts that got put in the back of the truck, runnin boards, cowl, firewall, steerin colume, dash panel. So it's perdy much complete, parts wise. It's a 1927 Ford Coupe

Took in some scenery as well, more like scopin it out for a future trip to play. Float the river at Gruene.......ahhhhhhh water looks soooo nice. It's a spring fed river, and they say the water temp is a consistant 72 degrees.

We also went to the Big huge Cabela's store there. Bought a "jerky gun" Kinda resembles a cookie dough or cake decorating kit, only on a bigger scale. Now if someone will just kill somethin that we can make jerky from....

Thanks for the 'welcome back' LOL wasn't gone that long. Yeap that's the Guadalupe at Gruene, TX.

Mr Lilly's dad makes deer jerky alot. But never have ground it first. always just lil strips of meat hung in the smoker after puttin his seasonin on it. It's good stuff. But we'd like to try makin the other. Lil Lilly's ag teacher makes it and uses one of these guns. He gave us a package of it, and oh man was it good stuff.

And yes, Mr Lilly wondered off numerous times in that Cabela's store......the last time I think he was stuck in the gun dept. when I finally called him on his cell phone and told him. "Come on we are all waitin on you" we'd been in there a couple hours. Walked the whole store and seen all that was there a couple times, even have a shootin range archade thing in the back we played at. My favorite part was the upstairs, Home Ware Dept that had all the cookin stuff, and furniture. I liked some of the bedroom furniture, but don't think I'll go as far as Camo'd out upolstry (sp) on my couches and chairs...that was a bit much.
