Those little gals will remember that day for a long time!!

About the toes, some folks used to take care of the Association cattle
on the Big Horn Mountains and we would go visit them when I wasn't very old...say 7-9 years old...They had a bay horse named Jack that was real gentle and we could do about anything with him. 4 of us could ride him at a time, and we did. When he had had enough, he just put his foot on top of the kids foot who happened to be standing nearest to him.
He wouldn't put any weight on it so you weren't hurt...but you couldn't go anywhere either. He'd keep you there til he was good and ready to let you go.

Gosh, I had forgotten about that. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Oh man..talk about hurt!!!! One time, I was about 4 years old, was helpin grandma milk her cow......or so I thought :D I had on sandles...and asked if I could put the hobbles on the cow......the cow didnt need em, I'd just saw em hangin there on the side of the barn, and was bored. Grandma said, "sure I don't care" so I went to work. got one side on and was wrestlin with the other side, when the cow decided to take a step back. Well there I was..squatted down right behind her.......and when she took that step, she put her foot right on top of my big toe on my left foot. I immediately jumped up and jerked my toe out from under her foot....minus the toenail!!!! Grandma grabbed me up and carried me to the house, and put my foot in one of them hospital pans the they love to collect...Hot water and epsom salt. YEOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! Then she wrapped it up with torn strips from an old sheet. It was sometime durin the week, before Easter weekend, I'd already got to go shoppin for my new Easter shoes....I only got to wear one shoe Easter Sunday. I was so upset LOL
But I learned my lesson...no sandles around cows n horses. EVER!!!!

Jersey It was about my 10th birthday and my sister and friends and I had been out for a ride. Stopped at the water trough and were standing beside our horses. For some reason my sister slapped her horse and he jumped sideways and spooked mine into a sideways jump. Landed right in my toes. I didn't loose the nails but sat eating birthday cake with my foot in a pan of ice water. I think I must have busted a couple but they were never set. Just stuffed back into my boots i suppose.
