Palin a repacement for Steele as RNC Chairman?

(CBS/ AP) Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is in trouble with many in his party after speaking out against the war in Afghanistan. Some are even calling for him to be removed.

And, reports CBS News Senior White House Correspondent Bill Plante, there's talk in GOP circles that Sarah Palin should replace him.

John McCain's one-time running mate and former Alaska governor is, as Plante puts it, "the star of the Republican Party. She's the top endorser, top fundraiser -- and now could be the party's top dog. Some members of the GOP base are calling for her" to take Steele's place.

Obviously, Palin is not stupid, but instead qualified. Sorry, libs.

Palin would be a much better RNC chairman than presidential candidate or freelance kingmaker. She'd raise tons of money and help recruit good candidates, i.e., she'd excel at doing the things Steele should have been doing instead of appointing himself Republican pundit-at-large.

A Chairman Palin would help set the right tone for the Republican party without having to get herself entangled in the minutiae of policy-development, which has not been her forte.

Steele's two-year term as GOP chair ends in January

after his last comments,.. I would support a change...

and it would give Palin a chance to prove herself on a national front.

For one minute let's assume the libs got this one thing right. Let's just assume that the libs are right that Palin is slow. So what difference would that make...obama one of the dumbest people on the face of the earth is prez. Obama proves that anything is possible.

Palin has more support than obama at present. She can sure raise the money, eh?

Palin has learned and adapted since the campaign. Not that she is ready for the big time, yet, but she'd be better at being a leader than obama.

I agree.. she might not be ready.. I would go as far as to say she will never be ready... but given the choices we have. had. she is a better leader then the rest.

the RNC chair would give Palin a chance to prove herself as a leader on the national level..

and the November elections would be a good test..

Many said she was ready to be VP.....why not incharge of the GOP then?

Would that be a harder job than VP?

I saw throw her in and let her prove herself....maybe she'll last longer at that then she did as Gov.

I agree.. she might not be ready (for a Presidential run).. I would go as far as to say she will never be ready... but given the choices we have. had. she is a better leader then the rest.

I guess I should have been clearer... I think Palin is ready to be RNC chair, and I think she would do a great job..

I don't think she is ready for the position as President, and I would like to see her deal with the RNC first.

You mean longer than the 143 days that obama served in the Senate? Experience doesn't seem to matter, unless it is a Dem. talking about a Republican.
