  But Sarah Palin didn't QUIT to do anything else. She just QUIT. And it will follow her forever.

Maybe she quit to pertect her kids from from being attacked by libs like you .. If someone was attacking your kids would you step aside to protect them????

Then she should have never got in the fight to start with. ANYONE knows that if you go in the ' lime light' your whole world and family are put out there for public scrutiny.

If she didn't know that, then she's really too stupid to be dog catcher let alone Gov or Pres.

Amen...Have you noticed that most the pop up ads this morning on ranchers have been promoting the Sarah Palin PAC.....If she didn't want to be in the limelight- she shouldn't have hired a Public Relations firm that was trying to make her name an everyday word- nor started a PAC to fill its coffers like she did....
If she's too thin skinned to handle the media and the happenings of WTF Alaska- how does she ever expect to handle the everyday papparazi of D.C. or NYC... :???:

Any servant leader in Palin's situation would do exactly as she did. She can not effectively legislate when the Anchorage Paper puts her whole administration on the constant defensive and costs the tax payers all that money.

She did the right thing for her state. Talk to the citizens living there. They like her and hate what has happened.

Seems like only one Palin quit was Alaskans as far as I know no one on here is from Alaska so it really does not matter what someone from Oklahoma, Texas or Georgia thinks.

I could care less if Obama quit the people of illinois who elected him, nor do I care if Hillary quit the people of New York.

And I am happier than crap that my Kansas Governor quit recently to go work for Obama! I am sure some Kansas people did not like that she was elected to do a full term but quit to get into national politics vs fulfilling her State Politics obligation.

I really believe that I would tell my children that in 18 months it would be over with...that part of life is dealing with adversity and that I'd made a commitment that I intended to honor and I would hope that in the future they would honor their commitments, even in the face of adversity.

I can remember when I was in Junior High and begging my mother to please not go before the school board over an issue that I knew would create a lot of negative fallout on me. My mother did what she knew was right, and the board sided with her. And true to life, the kids at school made my life a living hell for weeks on end. I can remember hating mother for doing that to "me," yet now I know she wasn't doing it to me, but that she knew it was the right thing for all of the students and I'm proud of what she did and I'm thankful she set the example she set. This is just one of the MANY examples that were set for me and my brother and sister by both my parents when they set a course they believed to be the right path. It was tough, but we are not quitters today!

Anymore, kids seem to think that it's ok to cut and run when things get uncomfortable. Kids today have more trouble grasping what integrity means...everthing needs to be easy for them. That is not a good thing.

Mrs. Palin is not doing her children any favors by setting that pattern.

Nobody knows for sure what she is doing. She mentioned going "national". Maybe she thinks she can have more of an impact on the future direction of the country if she was not tied to the State of Alaska.

It's a big gamble, but if that is what she is doing, and it works out for her, Alaskans will thank her for doing it.

Like Alice's story, it may be a little sacrifice of reputation at present, but it might be a worthwhile exercise in the end.

She may be teaching her kids a little more than we know. All this talk about affairs, FBI investigations, Todd etc are all just theories.

It will probably come out later that all these rumors have been generated by some liberal media outlet or a high ranking individual.

All the negative trumped up allegations are doing is raising her profile even more. Her book will probably sell even more copies, because of it.

How so? By quitting? Children have to learn to deal with negativity, not run from it. They need to learn how to deal with life and all that life has in store for them, good and bad, not hide from it.

I could care less why she's quitting...but to say that it's in the best interest of her children...to say that it's to keep her children from having to weather negativity, nah...that's not helpful to them at all. It may be easier in the short term, but in the long run it's doing them no favors.

I don't think she is running from anything. Her statement gave me the impression that she was going to spend more time in the lower 48, working on a more national level.

If that is the case, she will be attacked personally more than she is now.

So how is she running from anything?

I'm not saying she is or she isn't. I was responding to Woranch's post that brought up leaving office to protect her children. She can quit...it's her choice and she'll have to deal with whatever consequences come from it. Like I said, I don't care why she's leaving, but I don't intend to praise her for doing it for her children, if that indeed is the case, or if that is the reason she intends to use and stick with.

sssshhhhhh you liberals sure got a thing for her.

People quit jobs all the time to pursue what they feel is better for them and their families. Hillary did it, Sebelius did it.

Politics is a Job, you guys are making it out like she abandoned her children or something. She resigned from a Job to pursue other interest.

You guys are making Politics some higher calling or something. It is a Job for snakes.

You libs are making a fool of yourself!

Talk to someone who lives there. I can pm you my niece or nephew's phone number if you'd like.

Big difference between this and Bush.

Don't need to talk to anyone.

Facts are that as much crap as Bush was getting.....he stayed and didn't cry about thing or even when his twins were catching it for being out drunk and party girls.....he stayed. I'll give credit where credit is due on that fact.

Things get a wee bit hot...and Palin runs.

She's not better than any one else puts themselves into the spotlight of the world. It's like that old adage, ' be careful what you ask for....you just might get it'....we'll she asked for the attention and got it.

Well then, you ought to be doing double back flips from being so overjoyed that she'd gone!

The government is totally different for a Governor versus the Presidency. The rules are different.

You can go right on ahead and believe what you choose and its okay.

So Kolanuraven, why did you ask me to take your picture down from the Posters Pictures thread?

I was getting tired of the ' feedback' from it.

But have I left Rancher's....have I....??????????

NO

I'm here.

I haven't quit.

So your witty little stab at being a wize-azz , Yanick ,don't work.

No you haven't, my point is you didn't care for the "feedback", imagine it on a much, much, larger scale, perhaps she is in fact doing for the good of the State of Alaska
