Oddsmakers have now given Palin 8/1 odds of dropping off the ticket...

I will bet you that if she drops out I will vote for the biggest radical loon of your choice for the rest of my life, [ I am 39 ] If she does not drop out you have to vote for McCain/Palin one time. Shawn

Those odds were given on Monday when the Pregnancy was announced.

Today is a new day for those odds makers in England.

Eagleton was the only VP that I remember dropping off the ticket. He was looney to start with.............

Huffington is grasping for a straw again.

Honestly Palin should not be an issue....I really just hope she was picked on her merrit and not just to swing a more popular vote.....I have no clue if there were others more qualified then her but if there are then McCain did his voters a dissservice...If she is how ever the best qualified person for the job, then no one should fear her..This Presidency is supposed to be about what is best for the USA.....So if she is the best then I wish her well...I really just want someone who will spend more on America then in other countries...

She only has to be the best qualified person in one person's eyes...John McCain. The rest of us get the chance to voice our opinion on Nov. 4th. All other speculation is irrelevant and worthless...odds makers my a$$!!!!!!

Rather she is qualified is relative to what you feel is important. Did you post this same remark when Obama was picked? Maybe you did, maybe I just missed it?

And why is it you want someone to spend more on America than other countries? :?

Best qualified mantra is a joke. How do you know who is best. Who decides who is best.

The real question is" Is she qualified" and the answer is a resounding YES.

I really just want someone who will spend more on America then in other countries...
Mike is right, that is an odd statement from a Canadian. Please explain.

Maybe that was a slip and he is not really from Canada, he is a poser on here with a different user name. Kind of makes you wonder, is he maybe Kolan in disguise, or maybe OT eh?

Some interesting new info coming out of the folks up in Alaska--Ms Palin didn't even do much executive work in her Mayors job of a town of 8,000- they hired a City Administrator who did all the work.....

A town of 8,000 that needs a City Administrator :???:

Must be the cold temps of the northern climbs OT. I checked out all our small towns around here. They all have administrators. The smaller villages share one between two or three. I'll bet it is the same in Montana if you checked. The mayor chairs council who sets policy, direction and laws. The administrator answers to the mayor. That is why it is an executive position, because the buck stops at the mayor, the head of the Administration.

Not here- I guess we have smarter Mayors  ...Mayor Dan and the elected Council handles it-- even so far as working on the grant writing...We've never had a City Administrator even when we had over 10,000 people- and the Air Base (another 10,000) right next door...

Maybe some do- but I'm sure not aware of any nearby...Even the counties that have way more than that are mostly all run by elected Commissioners-- with only the large counties hiring administrators...

Yep OT, it's amazing how much serious business gets done at the local watering hole. I'm surprised that you even need a mayor.

Most of the towns in Texas of any size at all (as small as 2500) have "City Managers" in addition to city councils and a mayor.
