Yep- the article kind of brings back the old days of the 30's-50's--- and there were no radio cars or walkie talkies (cops had call boxes)- when the majority of the cops walked "a beat" they were responsible for - and they knew everyone in their beat-- or if they didn't---found out quick who the new ones were and what they did and why they were there...

Back then most felt the personal touch made them much safer--BUT now the radical rightwingernut antigovernment anarchists consider it infringing on their rights.... :???: Especially since we have a black President that doesn't have an (R) behind his name......

Back a few years ago, the police set up roadblocks frequently in the urban areas.

They did a good job of catching drunks and so forth............

But the blacks pitched a fit because they were assured they were being abused.

Used to be that a poll worker, would know everyone that came in to vote and could vouch for their identity.

Now you got Democrats going to rural voting booths, where they have never lived, or never taken a bus to before.
