Down south and east of us about 90 miles is the town of Nephi, Utah (Knee-fi). They have the annual Ute Stampede Rodeo the 2nd week of July. We been going since I can remember. This year is the 75th anniversary and they honored as many of the past queens as were around. My Mom was queen in 1964 so went for the shin-dig. They have a nice parade. Here are some pictures of the day!
Hats off everyone! Here comes the flag and just back from Iraq National Gaurd guys!
Followed by the big guns! I believe that is a self-propelled howitzer. Whatever it is, don't tick off the guy pulling the trigger!
The Rodeo committee was sponsered by the Dodge folks. One ol' boy had been on the committee for 45 years!
I am not a machinery guy, but this old tractor was a cherry!
They rounded up a bunch of ex-queens and had them ride wagons in the parade. 75 years worth was a lot of queens. Some were younger and some were quite a bit older.
Some queens were skinny and some were not.
Some rode in wagons pulled by mules and others had horses in front.
Some wagons had rubber tires and some didnt.
It takes a lot of wagons to parade 75 years worth of rodeo queens!
My Dad joked that he's never been to a parade with so many wagons filled with old women! We agreed that young women filled wagons would of been more popular! 8)
That gal in the middle with black hair and the pink blouse looks kinda familiar! Any complaints for my behavior should directed at her. Actually that pretty lady is my sweet Mother and I know for a fact she's perfect!
The folks at Wells Fargo Bank had a pretty stagecoach and matched quads up front.
The whole dang parade was old stuff! This old truck had a neat paint job.
This old Utah Highway Patrol car was cool. I might have a chance of out running it!
Greenline Equipment did bring some new stuff. Think how much tree thinning Gcreek could accomplish with this critter. Just drive that sucker over the timber and pick up the kindling!
A corn chopper worth more than my net worth and a bunch more!
After picking up a five gallon bucket of candy and watching the parade of dinosuars  Littest H was raring to get to the rodeo! Hope ya liked the parade!
