Pat Robertson says it's nuts to root for Obama's failure

In these brief excerpts from an interview with Dan Gilgoff of U.S. News & World Report, televangelist and religious right icon Pat Robertson says that while he's disappointed in President Barack Obama, it's goofy to wish, as Rush Limbaugh did, that Obama's presidency fails.

"That was a terrible thing to say," Robertson tells Gilgoff. "I mean, he's the president of all the country. If he succeeds, the country succeeds. And if he doesn't, it hurts us all. Anybody who would pull against our president is not exactly thinking rationally."

Rush isn't worrying about anything but keeping his listeners in line so he can make those mega bucks. At least Pat is showing a little common sense. I guess Pat is a Conservative isn't he?

Yep-- and as long as the Republicans keep following the Rush/Rove divisive tactics they'll never bring in the moderates and Reagan Democrats that they need to win elections.....Even old Pat knows that...

TSR I really don't know how you would describe Pat Robertson. I really don't. Sure Rush limbaugh and the other conserative radio hosts make big money but they also have huge audiences. People don't and won't listen to liberal radio talk shows. it's been tried. May work in some of the extremely liberal states but not in the country as a whole. I don't listen that often but have listened and I even hear some dems. call in from time to time. I think folks need to understand that most in this country are really worried about this country becoming a liberal socialist state. They don't mind some change for the good sometimes but what we've seen this first month is not what many were hoping and wishing for. Over 65% of voters were against this so called stimulus package. What ever happened to "representation"????

It's common sense to wish success to a person intent on destroying the country?

Show me a reputable pollster with results that can back up that assertion.

I'm not sure even Gallup is good enough to pull a random sample of cattle-owning wingnuts.

:disagree:

Just more lies from you, old man. This site is LOADED with your anti -Bush rants and cuts and pastes smearing anything remotely conservative. You want anybody to believe that you were not pulling against Bush, you better start editing/deleting 10,000 or so posts. :drink:

Thank You- but for 3 years now I've been telling you folks on these posts- as well as the Canadians on the Agriville thread- that Bush's direction was leading to an imploded economy- and the Republicans getting their arses kicked...

And I was right.....Luck- maybe-I think most of it came from observing what was happening around the country, and being able to read the mood of people-and even the staunchest of Repubs around here were cussing the corruption and incompetence of GW and his total neglect for the American people/America while he pumped $Trillions into Iraq-- but whatever-- I still get to tell you- I TOLD YOU SO!!!!! :p :p :p  :( :( :(

OT, now is the time for you to look into your crystal ball and tell us what the country will look like in 2012. Yes I am scared, really scared. Not at Obama, he is just a figure head. I am scared of the sense of reality the American people have lost.

OT were those the same people that were singing his praises from 2001 thru 2007 when they were making double digit returns on just about any investment, the market was almost at 14,000, inflation was almost non existant and unemployment was almost unheard of ????

Oh we'll come thru it- just like we did in the 30's...When things finally get so bad--Americans will pull together- and a lot of the divisiveness will end....The rightwingnuts, like Rush, will quit calling for the failure of the country when its them or folks they know that are suffering and out of work..
As Truman said:
A recession is when your neighbor loses his job- a depression is when you lose yours....

And we won't end up any more "socialist" than we did under FDR...

My biggest fear is what is going to happen in the rest of the world....

Just like in raising cattle- moderation overall keeps you from a trainwreck...And no- most of the folks around here are not really what you can call the investor class- with their only investing being in retirement funds... These were the working people, and small businessmen and farmers and ranchers-- that were seeing the handwriting as well as I was...
