My sister and her husband drive for an international delivery service and regularly drive across all of Canada, the USA and down into Mexico. I got this email and these pictures from her yesterday and though I’d share it with all of you:
Waking up to the sound of motorcycles roaring into the parking lot on a cool August morning at a border town between Indiana and Ohio gave us cause to open our eyes and go inspect what was going on. All the bikes had colors, red, white and blue 3' x 5’ American flags. As we soon found out, they were part of a country wide organization called the Patriot Guard Riders and they were escorting a piece of the Pentagon from 911.
They had a ceremony as the Ohio branch of the Patriots passed the historic piece of the wall to the Indiana branch. The eventual destination will be in Dodge City, KS where a memorial will be built to 911, housing not only the Pentagon piece, but also one from the world trade center and a piece of the plane from flight 93.
As one of the group told us, a good portion of them are veterans and their mission is all about Respect to God, Country, our Flag and our Veterans. Members exist in all 50 states (a strong one in SD). They have over 50,000 members and the organization will be a year old in November. They do have a web page: www.patriotriders.org
We thought we should share a non-typical morning with you!
