PECANS!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they want to drive clear up here to kick my butt, over a joke, then I'll just let them! I think they probably knew I was just jokin' with them. And as far as that goes, I guess I'd be more worried by Jersey than Haymaker, unless Haymaker was to bring along somethin' to sip on and get me drunk and then open a case of whoop a_ _ on me!
'Course, I've never seen a woman I was ascared of since I was 7 years old, but I am dang respectful of the ladies!

You guys are so lucky down there. FREE pecans? Just for the pickin? They are like 11 dollars for a 2 pound bag up here. Roasted pecans are to die for.... and pecan pie and all those yummy things. I spose you have walnuts too?

Well Texas has to HAVE something, good there!

Texas is the BEST independent country in the U.S. So there. It is a great state. Interesting people. Good food. Great music. Unique culture. Beautiful lakes. Nice coast (but they are too relaxed about pollution). Good shrimp, pecans, BBQ, beer, Tex Mex, schools ...

Give it back to Mexico

Yesterday we met a charming young college student from Albania named Lorna ( her father gave all his kids American names) studying in the US for a year. On winter break she is excited about going to spend a few days each with a series of college friends in their Nebraska, North Dakota, and Minnesota homes. We doubt she has a clue what "cold" means!

Albania gets pretty cold and snowy alright....but they don't have those wonderful " western" winds that will take ya right outta ya boots if you're not careful.

We picked up 15 gallons of pecans last Friday at my dads. I will take them to the local pecan company to be cracked in a few days. We have had better crops then this year. Only about 2/3 of them seem to be filled out. I guess the trees are getting old. We figured they will be 100 next year. According to my grandfather, those trees have paid the taxes on the old home place for the last 90 years.
When picking up pecans, the best way is to just get down on your hands and knees and get with it. But my mother takes the leaf blower and blows them up in one spot and then gets them up.
