BNSF railroad is hiring daily-- fantastic paying jobs- with good family oriented benis, retirements and insurance... Building off loading ramps and storage sites for oil drilling materials/sands-- and onloading ramps for oil/liquid natural gas....
Talk of building two additional tracks across the state (north route and south route)...Also still talk of building a huge coal diseliquafication plant- but I heard that was on hold until Congress can come up with a longterm energy plan... Until then he is planning on shipping coal to China..
We are a railroad town.. Town was built by railroad and originally called Siding 45... Railroad also built the community transporting in homesteaders in the early 1900's... And they are still the center of our economy today..

TexasBred said:Guess old Buffett is in a quandry....Wants BNSF to do well so is against the XL Pipeline, but also wants Exxon Mobil and Conoco Phillips to do well to as he owns huge amounts of stock in these companies and they own huge amounts of the tar sands field. Wonder who will win..."BIG OIL"????

And Warren Buffett will win.. XL will go thru- but there is still more oil than can be carried by the allocation to the pipeline-- and the more drilling sites and expansion of the oil patch means more infrastructure that will be hauled in by rail....
And for you doubting Thomas's-- I did get the wedding performed... Beautiful outdoor ceremony in the park... I didn't make it to any of the after function or even up to see my uncle as I had to go watch the Grandsons football practice...
But I did get to talk to my uncle by phone that evening- and he reassured me that the whole population of the manor had seen Romneys screwups- and were grumbling about his way of thinking...
ranch hand said:Bnsf needs to repair it's old rails first. How many derailments a year OT in Montana?
ranch hand said:I know a few engineers for bnsf that say lots of rails are in need of major repair. Maybe they are starting to get it done. I heard one of the cars was leaking and the metal to metal created a spark and blew. The engineers say know one high up will ever let it out what caused it, because that is how they do business.
The $103 million project includes $34 million in TIGER-II federal funding to pay for the public benefits. BNSF and UP are responsible for funding a total of $51 million for the project.
An estimated $13 billion in new federal money for high-speed passenger rail service should go to a single project that demonstrates its effectiveness, the top executive of freight railroad Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. (BNI) said Thursday.
Veiled by the Kansas debate over cutting state services or raising taxes was a $35 million gem that lawmakers left for BNSF Railway, according to the Kansas City Star.
State and local officials had hoped to secure $50 million in stimulus money for BNSF but lost out in February, when the federal government doled out $1.5 billion.

and the list of federal $ going to BNSF is long... not as long as his unpaid tax bill but plenty long enough to buy a few votes...
before you thank uncle Buffet,.. you had better thank uncle Obama for the hand out to uncle Buffet..
