SO, one of the very thing preacher perry advocates i.e. NO choice for women (banning abortion), the very thing he advocates GARDASIL, causes abortions...

GARDASIL

snip...

There were 45 cases of congenital anomaly in pregnancies that occurred in women who received GARDASIL and 34 cases of congenital anomaly in pregnancies that occurred in women who received AAHS control or saline placebo.

Further sub-analyses were conducted to evaluate pregnancies with estimated onset within 30 days or more than 30 days from administration of a dose of GARDASIL or AAHS control or saline placebo. For pregnancies with estimated onset within 30 days of vaccination, 5 cases of congenital anomaly were observed in the group that received GARDASIL compared to 1 case of congenital anomaly in the group that received AAHS control or saline placebo. The congenital anomalies seen in pregnancies with estimated onset within 30 days of vaccination included pyloric stenosis, congenital megacolon, congenital hydronephrosis, hip dysplasia, and club foot. Conversely, in pregnancies with onset more than 30 days following vaccination, 40 cases of congenital anomaly were observed in the group that received GARDASIL compared with 33 cases of congenital anomaly in the group that received AAHS control or saline placebo.

Supreme Court Protects Vaccine Manufacturers, Not Injured Children there from Bruesewitz vs Wyeth

perry is bad for Texas, and perry is very bad for the USA...

Take the time to learn about HPV & Cervical Cancer correlation from the National Cancer Institute:

http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/HPV

I'm not saying Gardasil is bad, good, or indifferent. But I am saying that an awful big number of people are dying each year of Cervical Cancer that overwhelmingly are probably caused by HPV's.

Could Perry have thought he was going to save lives? Most certainly.

Glad you brought this up flipper. We need to be more informed of this.

"Some types of sexually transmitted HPVs cause cervical cancer and other types of cancer (1). These are called high-risk, oncogenic, or carcinogenic HPVs"

What if we had not mandated the "Smallpox" vaccine? There were side-effects to that too, but overall it was a success.

Smallpox Side-Effects:
Serious Reactions

In the past, about 1,000 people for every 1 million people vaccinated for the first time experienced reactions that, while not life-threatening, were serious. These reactions may require medical attention:
•A vaccinia rash or outbreak of sores limited to one area. This is an accidental spreading of the vaccinia virus caused by touching the vaccination site and then touching another part of the body or another person. It usually occurs on the genitals or face, including the eyes, where it can damage sight or lead to blindness. Washing hands with soap and water after touching the vaccine site will help prevent this (inadvertent inoculation).
•A widespread vaccinia rash. The virus spreads from the vaccination site through the blood. Sores break out on parts of the body away from the vaccination site (generalized vaccinia).
•A toxic or allergic rash in response to the vaccine that can take various forms (erythema multiforme).

Life-Threatening Reactions

Rarely, people have had very bad reactions to the vaccine. In the past, between 14 and 52 people per 1 million people vaccinated for the first time experienced potentially life-threatening reactions. These reactions require immediate medical attention:
•Eczema vaccinatum. Serious skin rashes caused by widespread infection of the skin in people with skin conditions such as eczema or atopic dermatitis.
•Progressive vaccinia (or vaccinia necrosum). Ongoing infection of skin with tissue destruction frequently leading to death.
•Postvaccinal encephalitis. Inflammation of the brain.

People with certain medical conditions—including people with weakened immune systems or certain skin conditions—are more likely to have these reactions and should not get the smallpox vaccine unless they have been exposed to smallpox.

Based on past experience, it is estimated that between 1 and 2 people out of every 1 million people vaccinated may die as a result of life-threatening reactions to the vaccine.

No one will talk about the good a person does. One bad incident and here we go - for years and years and years.

Who does Perry believe in the HPV vaccination program?

From The National Institute of Cancer:
Two vaccines approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Gardasil® and Cervarix®, are highly effective in preventing persistent infections with some HPV types. Gardasil prevents infection with HPV types 16 and 18, the two high-risk HPVs that cause most (70 percent) cervical cancers (4), as well as types 6 and 11, which cause most (90 percent) genital warts (5). Cervarix also prevents persistent infections with HPV types 16 and 18.

I think it goes much deeper... Besides going around parental rights- Number one is it went against one of the things the Tea Party supposedly is fighting against- executive mandates...When Perry couldn't get the Legislature to pass a law- he did it by executive mandate...

And number two it brings into question Perry's making legislative decisions for which ever company stuffs the right pockets the biggest...In Texas there was talk of his ties to Merck & Co. that were far deeper than have ever been exposed....

Perry has several ties to Merck and Women in Government. One of the drug company's three lobbyists in Texas is Mike Toomey, his former chief of staff. His current chief of staff's mother-in-law, Texas Republican state Rep. Dianne White Delisi, is a state director for Women in Government.

Toomey was expected to be able to woo conservative legislators concerned about the requirement stepping on parent's rights and about signaling tacit approval of sexual activity to young girls. Delisi, as head of the House public health committee, which likely would have considered legislation filed by a Democratic member, also would have helped ease conservative opposition.

Perry also received $6,000 from Merck's political action committee during his re-election campaign.

You never answered the question about Smallpox vaccinations. Should they have not been mandated? How about Polio?

Like I said- it doesn't matter the vaccine or the disease-- that is really not the issue....

The issue is that Perry and the Tea Party he now embraces are out there ranting and raving about not going around legislatures- and legislating by executive mandates--- and what does he do- legislates by an executive mandate...
So what can/do you believe- by what Perry says- or by what he does/has done....
He's a Tea Party Hypocrit.....

Perry admitted that he made a mistake in the executive order on the HPV virus, that included an opt-out plan for parents.

Even Ron Paul thinks the vaccination program was good but Perry went about it wrong.

Can't hang any of this on the Tea Party because they booed Perry on the whole Gardisil issue.

The remaining 144 cases were vaccine-associated paralytic polio (VAPP) caused by live oral polio vaccine (OPV).

hmm, the republicans et al don't want medical care for all, too costly. but want to perform a completely worthless, expensive medical procedure due to their religious views, and force them on everyone. what ever happened to separation of church and state$

unbelievable. this man is dangerous for Texas. rick perry has made Texas the number one nuclear dump in the USA. rick perry, if he has his way, would allow all industry polluters to continue to pollute the air we breath. rick perry also wants to drop Medicaid, or any help really for anyone that is poor. he wants to _force_ all schoolgirls to get vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer. FORCE, in like MAKE MANDATORY, like you would have had no say as a parent. the Government would force this on your children if perry had his way.

and it's odd, the very religious beliefs rick perry is trying to force on woman here i.e. sonograms, to now force a sonogram on a woman for no medical reason is appalling. sadly, that very thing he claims he is trying to stop (abortion), with the GARDASIL vaccine issue, and by forcing this on all schoolgirls, he is risking the very thing, ABORTIONS.

Perry, a conservative Christian who opposes abortion rights and stem- cell research using embryonic cells, counts on the religious right for his political base.

But he has said the cervical cancer vaccine is no different than the one that protects children against polio.

Rick Perry's nuclear money machine By Wayne Slater/Reporter

Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons is the focus of a new study that says his $1.1 million investment in Gov. Rick Perry this year could pay many millions in return. The issue is the West Texas nuclear waste dump that Simmons controls. For years, Simmons has lobbied the governor and the Legislature to license his nuke site - originally designed under a two-state compact to take radioactive waste from Texas and Vermont. Simmons' effort now is to open the site to nuclear waste from all over the United States, potentially worth millions if not billions. The key is getting permission from an agency controlled by Perry appointees.

http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/12/rick-perrys-nuclear-money-mach.html

I wrote about our good Environmental Friendly Governor Rick Perry and his willingness to bring nuclear waste from Ohio to Texas back in 2008. Seems the money is so good, he wants to now include 38 states to the list of states able to pollute the great state of Texas with Nuclear Proliferation waste. at a boy governor, you single handedly made Texas a toxic dump for nuclear waste. Course, which is worse, the air quality or the nuclear waste, which will kill you first ? This Governor has shown time and time again where his heart is, and it's NOT in Texas. ...

The dims never rolled on "it takes a village."

Talk about parental rights! That's calling the kettle black. Think of children having abortions without parental consent. The dems are going to start jumping up and down if that goes away.
