Pick Your Reason #2

Because it's humour, and gives balance to Soapweed's post (and my favorite thing in the world is playing Devil's Advocate), I thought I'd post the flip side of "Pick Your Reason", they both come from the same website.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After careful consideration, 1 committee and an agreement*, the following 10 reasons to Vote Republican are listed below..

#10 You should vote Republican because it's a comfort to know that the CIA is listening to my phone calls

#9 You should vote Republican because we'll never pull out of Iraq and you wouldn't want Halliburton's stockholders to lose money.

#8 You should vote Republican because the Polar Ice Caps are already melting and global warming has been proven to the satisfaction of about 96% of the world's scientists, but it probably won't have any effect until the present average American is dead so why waste time caring about the future?

#7 You should vote Republican because women aren't entitled to control their own bodies anyway and we wouldn't want them to start thinking they have rights.

#6 You should vote Republican because Greed is Good, and companies like Exxon deserve the massive tax breaks they get. Besides, no one would ever want to visit Alaska anyway.

#5 You should vote Republican because the Constitution has a lot of big words in it and who wants to be bothered with reading it anyway.

#4 You should vote Republican because you think a 700 mile fence is a good way to protect a 2100 mile border, and because if southwestern companies couldn't employ slave labor illegal aliens the cost of okra might go up.

#3 You should vote Republican because you wouldn't want anyone whose lifestyle differs from yours in the slightest to have any self respect or even rights.

#2 You should vote Republican because it's easier to deal with life when you don't have to decide things like where to spend your money when you don't have any.

And the NUMBER 1 Reason to Vote Republican is....

#1 You should vote Republican because when Exxon makes a QUARTERLY profit of $12,000,000,000.00 based largely on tax breaks that encourage them to suppress supply and God forbid they should spend even one dollar on research regarding alternative energy sources, while at the same time you have to decide between filling your tank and paying your phone bill, you think that's a good thing.

Yes it's humor....
If you can't take a joke, don't hate here...
Please share with all of your Lib and Rep friends..

Thank you..
Bill

Well, you can stand the two choices of ten reasons side by side and see which philosophy holds the most water.

I can see no logic in the thinking of Liberals. They whine about world conditions of too many people, but then they are always trying to save us from ourselves. They think we should all be required to wear seat belts. Their pet baby OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) tries to take any possible dangers out of the workplace. Heck, just let us bumble along any way we see fit. If we kill ourselves because our seatbelts aren't fastened, or because working conditions aren't safe, so be it. Theoretically they think there are too many people anyway. Why not let us eradicate ourselves by the fastest possible methods?

Because if we only maim ourselves in the attempt of self eradication, the "system" becomes burdened with the expense of trying to put us back together

I have to admit I have a lot of problems with parts of both liberal and conservative thinking, however I find the conservative train of thought to be generally less repugnant. Although there are some posters on here that make me want to distance myself from the right as much as possible so as not to be associated with them and their antics, even if the association would only be in my mind. Luckily for me my mental political make up is pretty well set and I will likely continue to cast my votes accordingly.

Some very good points in the previous posts but--------

There are times that you may be able to save anothers life if you had been wearing a seat belt. Think about it.
