Picked out bulls today

I don't suppose many of you remember those old wooden wheel Eclipse windmills, I just barely do. They didn't have a vane, just a football shaped concrete ball on the end opposite the wheel for balance. One evening when my parents were coming home from town they saw a neighbor boy standing on top of this concrete ball on a windmill. I would say it took a bit of nerve to even get up there.

This fellow has done a few other things too. When REA came through he hooked his farm up with a bamboo fish pole. They said it was a wonder he didn't get killed. Well, he is past 80 years old now, but probably would not tell of these things.

Soapweed, how much are the bulls weighing and how were they fed thru the winter? Will you grain them till turnout? How old will the youngerst be at turnout time?

You've done a fine job taking care of the bulls, Longshot. Looking at their ear tags, it appears that most of them were born the last week of March and the first week of April. They probably weigh over 1100# now, and will be in perfect "turn-out" condition by the middle of May, when they will be put in with the cows. I'm excited about the bulls. Did you find the electric branding iron that Peach Blossom left hanging on your gate?

Yes we put it in the vet room. Which way does the arrow go?? :D

Point it to the left, and it can go either on the left rib or the left hip. Since your brand is on the hip, the rib location might be the best.
