King seems to insist, here he was trying to take shelter under Angela's horse from a few drops of rain while we were pairing up after going through two gates.

A few years back I had a dog that would hang-out under my horse - a trick she learn when I was working some SNUFFIE Angus cows...

Nice Photos!

That's always fun! Just on Wednesday we were moving pairs and a rather protective cow came at King and he took cover under my little bay mare, and the cow kept coming. My little bay mare didn't really appreciate that cow trying to go under her. Of course I had a cell phone in my hand at the time and so it was a little exciting for a few seconds!

And that is one reason, my friends, why I choose not to use cow dogs. :)

Boy you waited patiently for that shot Soapweed, good for you, I bet that was really gratifying.

I am sure you have many more reasons, I will do my best not to give you any more ammo. :D

When things like the above situation takes place, sometimes I say words that I wish I'd not said. :?

Dylan, may I ask where your dogs came from? You call them "McCallum" collies; are these a type of border collie? Thanks for posting the great pics. We lived in Brooks area for nine years and some days I miss the open sky country.
